Hi FXCyborg,

In the set-up highlighted here the bullish engulfing bar (3rd bar) engulfs both the bearish bars to its left. It does not invalidate the set-up?

Thank you

Hi FXCyborg,

Here too the the engulfing bar (3rd bar) engulfs both the previous bars and you have described it as a perfect set-up. That clears up things
for me.

Thanks again

Hi,

Sorry I misread. You said that it was not a perfect set-up due to the small body of the first bull bar.

Does it matter if the two bars preceding the engulfing bar have either upper or lower wicks or have both upper and lower wicks?

I have not uploaded any charts so far because I don't know how to do it. I will get my daughter to teach me when she comes home next.

Thanks

{quote} where was your first and second setup? I cant really see... and one of those setups is not valid as its engulfing the 2nd bar too

Hi FXC,

hopefully this time it will be better from my side. I haven´t read all posts yet. I found 3 bar setup on 15 min EURUSD. I did not find the setup on 5 min TF so looked at 1m. There was a setup so I took it. I set Sl for breach line + 2 pips, TP1 at previous structural high. I got TP, RRR was 1:2. Can we judge this trade as setup in setup? Thank you a lot.

Isn't the trend up? We shouldn't be trading against the trend.

It seems that if you have to study it too hard, if you have to squint, or reconsider it too many times, its a pass. If it don't stick out like a sore thumb, pass on it....that's my opinion...

also looked at this on EJ, took a peak inside the 4hr engulf, found something mildly interesting, but it looked like it may have been played, and was not so clear on my 4hr read.....passed...

I don't see anything interesting inside, and the bull bars are not the right size really, and I don't see any consolidation either, I'd pass myself....but good luck...

Hello, may I have a question? See picture below. Do you think it was a correct entry short after setup formed? The price dropped and came back to the line. I spotted this setup later so I could not take it. Finally it worked to the TP1. I will have to study more about profit taking. Thank you.

Edit: What level is right to take a trade when the close of 1. bar is different to open of 2. one? cheers

Short after I closed my trade new setup formed on YM (89 tick). I was waiting for price to rise and come back to the entry level. Worked well.

Hi Geges, isn't it against the trend? I noticed the setup also but did not liked the second bull candle at at all so I left that one. I wish you get your profit though

I think it could be a short term pullback in long term downtrend..so trying to catch top short...if I'm wrong I got SL in place.
Cheers.
