It will take you more than 10 years of trading to realize that all the losses you have had are the best blessings that have occurred to you all that time...
You will not learn that in school. Including black swans and their whipsaws in seconds or sometimes weeks. Margin calls and all those pains will make you a better person. It's hard to feel this way but you'll get there... The best part is, if you last more than 10 or 20 years in the financial markets... you will look at your losses from the clouds and realize you that those lessons have cost you a few grains of salt

That's why trading on a smaller account is much smarter to do when you first start out. Would you rather lose $5,000, or would you rather lose $50,000? I know I would rather make a bunch of mistakes on a smaller account and learn from that!! The amount of money you make does not matter... but the percentage. If you can make a profit with a small account, you can do the same thing on a large account.
And yep, you won’t learn these type of things in school... why do you think analysts make the worst traders?
I will never put my money on what an analyst says, pfffft yeah right.

I've never been to one of those AA meetings but if there was a trader kind of AA meeting, this is how I'd expect to be. ( Until the guy above showed up

I wish I had thought of that to say to the ex wife while she was nagging at me that all I do is sit in front of the computer and lose money.
Honey, but I am trying to become a better person. Don't you want me to become a better husband for you? In fact, it is working so good that if you watch me long enough, you may notice me levitating off my chair briefly when I make money although it is just for a brief time. All the times you see me fall off the chair when I lose money and when you hear me shout that awful F word, it's only because I am battling with my inner demon to come up triumphant and defeat the beasts of imperfection that are holding me from doing the best for you. As your husband, I owe it to you. I owe it to you to be a better person.
