i am having the same issue. both desktop and mobile are not functioning. this is happening alot lately and at critical times.
Everybody call or contact Oanda to complain and demand them to fix it right away.

Just got off a chat with oanda and they inform me they are having troubles with their servers. No time given when they will come back up.

Maybe they want to block trading during Brexit vote.

Exactly right. But I ask you, what the hell use is a broker that won't let you buy or sell or manage your trades?

It is quite possible they want to limit their exposure because of that whole sorry Brexsh!t vote drama, but shouldn't they announce that to their customers, instead of pretending that their servers got blown off?

It's a little too coincidental. This isn't the first time. I got taken out of GBPCAD in profit but I was trying to change sl. It cost me $. Funny.

Any word on whether they'll adjust trades? I was trying to close a position for a small loss, now it's a large loss. I can't do anything.

wouldnt be surprised if they drag this out past the vote today

theres probably more than just dropping server going on could be tweaking their hedge while they buy time

one thing certain after a handful of times any company could rectify and prevent this from happening at this frequency

that is why things are clear

Agreed, it's no coincidence. I understand why OANDA wants to limit their exposure at times of high volatility, but I've been burned badly in the past by this practice.

OANDA is a decent broker 99% of the time. But on days like today, they will gladly take your losses, and freeze your profitable trades so they can't be closed at a profit. Probably best to be flat, and resume trading when the volatility subsides -- or get a different broker.

Yes Oanda sucks. I would be up huge. Like you said they have no problem taking $ when you lose. Goddamn criminals. New broker it is. Oanda =Thieves

Hey gang, fwiw Oanda called me and asked me when I first tried contacting them, etc.

They gave me an email address (one they apparently prioritize for "premiere" customers) to send my info to and said they'd amend the trade.

I blogged about the issue initially here and will update with what comes of it all.

I cannot tell you the exact time, but mine went back to normal a good few minutes before the vote.

Oanda guy saw your post, then they called you and said they would amend it?

You didn't call them or mailed them, but they did call you right away because they saw you were complaining in your blog?
You folks and your "regulated" brokers. I know you can't all be this naive. This is a constant issue with this broker, just look back in this thread. I had not one second of downtime today (or any other day, for that matter) with any of my "unregulated" brokers. The trading conditions are 1000 times better offshore. Everyone is so concerned about getting screwed offshore, but you allow yourselves to get screwed right here every single day. Oanda is not going to change as long as they cotinue to get away with it. Wake the fuck up!!!
