Most likely this pair brought a big problem to the broker. Just look at the spread on last night's closing, Sell 1.80627 and Buy 1.81131. 51 pips

GBP/JPY: Price might retest at around 140.000 and find its way back down to 139.000 (Hourly chart). Full down trend, possible bearish movement throughout the month of January. The spreads are very high now and still be seriously high for the few hours on the resumption from the Banks holiday. IMO, why not taking the Gorilla signals only in the direction of the TREND

I agree,but don't forget,that dragon is now very sensitive to fundamentals and Teresa might get hiccups and dragon could start flying either direction.So unless brexit deal is done and clear,I'll be careful with dragon.

Actually the forex market does not recognize holidays because transactions continue between large traders in various parts of the world and banks still provide their services.

We retail traders can only follow decisions made by bigdogs. So actually the direction of the trend has been determined before the trend takes place.
Our job is to collect as much profit as possible every time they take profit and that's pretty easy to do.

Usually they do it in cross pairs but sometimes they do it in developing country currencies.

One of the basic textbooks when you study MBA is international economics. You can buy it at a bookstore and you will understand a lot about how to determine one currency, cross pair and so on.

I agree with you, forex market does not recognize holidays but brokers do, that is why we experience gap sometimes. For example, GJ closed at 139.736 but the current price of GJ presently is 140.359. Even during the weekends, you can still get the current price when all the brokers are closed.
