I agree with majority of your points. there are a few things I would like to mention.

Why worry about the Maduro situation when Mexico is a huge friend of Cuba, I see Mexico as a friend of all and a judge of none. People give Russia too much credit even if they did mingle. Sure they are not the only ones.

His concern with the poor is well founded. The fact is we have been desensitized by the way things have been with the common people. It is strange that being for the poor and not ignoring the people that voted you in is an issue. I see his idea of "exalting" the poor as you call it, as building a middle class that does not exist in this country since the gap between the higher up and the people is enormous(which in essence is the definition of Third World Country). And yes it will take more than his 6 years, he even stated that people should be patient that it will take time because they were handed a broken country.

True. Best to hear it when all is done. But this is the way we can measure how he or any other politician is doing.

In his case he instituted a new way of measuring, Since the Presidents cannot run for re-election their 6yr term seem long for some. He said that after 2 1/2 yrs the people can decide if they want him to continue in office or not. Bold move and one that I think can guarantee that some major changes will take effect before then.

Mexico has enough resources to be a major influence in this world. I post about this not just for political reasons but because as a Trader I must follow all issues on a global scale. Remember Trumps beginning...how it affected the markets...one tweet was all that was needed.

Maybe this won't be a market mover...now...

Sources May not be very trustworthy but anyways if he is actually working in Morena it may be an issue down the road. Even if people decide to go for the revocación de mandato, who is gonna step up into office next? Will there be new elections or Morena will choose who will be next?

Hi Friends,

I am worried that the new Mexican President elect may sound a little too radical towards government, I am sure others are worried about this as well.

See link about what happened to a very similar Mexican politician running for the Presidency who also dedicated in helping the poor and causing waves in 1994:

Hopefully, he will become accepted by most about him and keep good professional body guards for himself as well as his immediate family.

First there were dovish words on interest rates from Fed Chairman Jerome Powell that raised hopes a bottom might form around last month’s low in the S&P 500. Now bulls are getting excited about a promise by the U.S. president and Chinese President Xi Jinping to put a temporary halt on new tariffs.

With a month left in the year, the S&P 500 is up 3.2 percent in 2018 and sits close to the midpoint of its annual range. Relative to earnings, the index trades at a multiple of about 19, cheaper than any time since early 2016.

Bullish signals from Buenos Aires went beyond tariffs. Xi said he would consider approving a possible $44 billion deal for Qualcomm Inc. to purchase NXP Semiconductors NV if it’s brought to him again, the White House said in a statement. The canceled takeover was the highest-profile victim of the trade dispute between the world’s two largest economies.

The market “is pricing some risk of further escalation in our view, and thus the absence of a negative G-20 outcome (i.e. agreement to just keep talking) could see the S&P 500 trade toward 2,800,”

Sterling will be vulnerable to swings on signs that lawmaker opposition to the deal is increasing or waning during debates that kick off on Dec. 4, ahead of a vote a week later.

There will always be an opposing view. No gov official is 100% perfect...but also people fear what they don't understand. What I am saying; however, is that I see this as the first chance for this country to change...some may not like it...but if it did happen Mex may start the process to becoming a powerful country. Granted that the people need to be on board...because gov can only do so much...the people have been on wrong path way too long.

But what I am focused on is the probability of a positive change that may influence the market in the future (because of the resources it has especially oil). He made a bold claim that MXN, which is currently above 20, will be at 17. The only way I see that if there is dollar weakness. MXN has no effect on dollar and at one point and even at times it is dependent on OIL and CAD movement (because of the oil). So if MXN does go to 17 without the influence of dollar then we may see Mex events move the market (a long shot). Mex import and export especially with US and CAN are huge, and US cannot afford to have a strong Mex.

Heard he was well liked. AMLO lost 2 elections before finally winning...I think now everyone is ready for him.

Hi guys my Oanda changed my account to OANDA-v20 Live-2
There must be something wrong because I have 19k extra margin!Wow can't complain but I do think it might be an error on their part or they have reduced margin requirements.
Anyone with Oanda can shed some light?

regardless of account type, the margin remains the same. Oanda also sends out if there is any upcoming margin changes.
I dont understand what is the issue you have from the post. Did you check the spread?

Hey Davit,

I do not know if this may give some insights:

1. v20 has v20- +2 GMT - Live or based on the Helinski time zone
2. Apparently, the new v20 severs are faster according to Oanda
3. the AO is "0" on the daily_open_line
4. There is an IB on the Oanda Thread you can contact as well.

Whether this explains the new Margin, I do not know. But, I have talked with some very knowledgeable people at Oanda, however many are not, Maybe these folks can shed some light to this questions.

Did you read my post? I said I have Extra 19k and positions are not dramatically different
What has changed my account is migrated to v20
