4.20 it's not that different I know people who had some bad experiences with amp infinity internal engine seems better but compared to fx it's 100% better

i agree with the second part..

but amp is just a clearing broker..all platforms are their own issues with their respective data feeds (in my case it's cqg). Ex. if people had issues with sierra or data, amp can't do anything about it. they'll just tell you to talk to those guys directly..

unless amp doesn't execute your trades or charge you weird numbers then amp is ok

it's a level playing field from the perspective that all retailers get the same data with regulated exchange

it's not fair playing field because the big boys get data quicker by having servers near or at the exchange

your forex market is fucked up both ways...

So let me get this straight fx TRADER trade against there broker there broker makes a fake market and give you a .5 pip spread which is more like a 5 pip spread based on real price is better that trading against traders of the world with no broker intervention? Hey hilmy let's open a fx brokerage give them 0 spread and make a fortune maybe ensale and Angus will trade with us lol

Thanks guys. You have reminded me why I stopped hanging out on forums and social media. Some of you would argue about the color of a solid gold bar. Well, that would depend on whether it was 99.99 pure or 99.98. Geez

It doesn't matter what vehicle you drive, it matters whether or not the driver is good enough to get you to your destination.

Had a look at the chart earlier, but couldn't find anything, so gave up. I didn't like the PA and the way it kept whipping back and forth. That was on 133 tick. I feel i would have needed 1,000 tick to smooth things out and trend the way i like it, but that would have meant utilising far bigger stops. Better to call it quits and fight another day.

The key is plan the trade trade the plan. As for 8 ticks that's the es which moves much slower than nq. And your right singles and doubles not home runs

This is not correct comparison.. Future is for forward date so include adjustment due to interest rate differential in each currency. As the future expiry date comes near this difference reduces as number of days to earn this interest rate differential reduces.

You can compare future bid/ask spread vs spot bid/ask spread.. There are usually similar.

Agree with your point that shady FX brokers can play game and generate fake prices... But comparing future and spot prices is not the way to show evidence for this.

Sorry guys i know the discussion is over but as someone who actively traded EurUsd spot and futures for quite some time i just wanna say that there is a difference in spot and futures in the EurUsd on OANDA at least. Just an informational post.

For the lower tf traders, pipettes add enough of a difference to the futures price that if your trying to learn to trade via watching price action or even indicator it may throw you off.

For the higher tf traders, end of day spread spike will sometimes hit your stop even if its not that close.

Random 2 or 3 pip non news spread spikes are real. Can take your stops and also get you in at adverse prices if you like to use markets.

Futures prices slowly slide towards Spot during the contract period. Depending on what you do it may or may not matter. Mostly doesn't.

I'm of the opinion that most price movement happens because of futures trading and not spot. You can see it in how futures BRNs are respected more than spot. As such, you can have better estimates for price movement from futures prices.

Off the top of my head this is what comes up.

They still make a market for retail and their price is not same as current price
