In order to trade without sl you need to know what are you doing.

TRading with sl has a meaning if you are trading 0.01 with 10k acc. You cant trade 1lot per trade on 10k acc and expect to survive.

I know one guy, he opened a buy trade on usdjpy somewhere in 2013 for 0.01, and called a broker in 2015 to see if he had anything left on acc. He had 1.2k in balance and 200 eur floating profit. So trade was opened for 2 years and it didnt blow account. The guy simply didnt care about trading since he run serious company.

So trading without sl is posiblle.
Hell....99% of traders use sl...and 95% lose money ( actual figure is less but who cares).

Trade baskets with 0.01 on 50k and more likely 3rd world war will happen, then account blowing.

Problem is people like short money and bling bling.
Help to be helped.

"Professional traders", by definition of that title, have a risk mitigation strategy, which means that they are aware of risks and have strategized for them. For professionals, a Black Swan event is more a risk for their broker than for the trader. Most important to professionals, we view a Black Swan event, and all other sudden moves in the market, as an opportunity to make money, as long as your trading strategy is based on the long term view of the market. Look at Brexit or the SNB, and read the long term charts. Once the events passed, we were left with long term opportunities to trade the square up. The market always squares up. On every timeframes. So, if your risk mitigation strategy leaves you still standing after a sudden event, and you know to trade the square up, then big moves, or the risk of a big move, don't scare you. Pros don't spend much time worrying about them.

Heart Attack
Stroke
Cancer
Motor Vehicle Accident
Mass Shooting
Plane Crash

You get the idea. Using stops betrays the truth. Given a long enough time horizon, the chance of survival drops to zero.

The rise of a bunch of right wing fringe groups does not even remotely compare to any of the events you named. Let's go back to the zombies. They are having one last resurgent before the world wakes up and faces the real problems such as global warming which the zombies don't care for because they are already in advance stages of decay.
