Missed a beautiful trend during euro session from sleeping. that would've been most of the day's profits the way I would've play it

i really am sleep deprived. With the new game out, i'm basically fucking myself up now. Need to stick to sleeping schedule....

I have ATT (isolated for MT4 terminal only) and Comcast for home network plus Tmobile which comes with 4G LTE hotspot included so 3 connectivity backups. For trade management, multiple platform alternatives is a must imo that was/is my primary reason for not going with infinity/transACT as they support only Sierra. Worst case scenario, have trading desk on speed dial to flatten your positions.

Wow! I tilt also dude so thanks for sharing. Any reason why you are using M1? with such large position size, drilling it down for more precise entries could be an option. Please keep up updated on how/what you are doing to address the tilt issue as I am sure there are many around us with this problem. You can set all the f*cking rules you want but seeing a large drawdown wiping out weeks of hard earned capital takes a huge toll on emotions right there in the moment. Watching this video, even my heart had a few missed beats :-(

the 1m is just for streaming to show the trades a little better. right now i usually trade from 2-8 contracts depending on setup. it's all based on volatility. high vol=lower size and vice versa. but again, i can say all this now, but in the moment when tilt hits like you said, it's all out the window. so i hope i don't have to go through that. even though deep down i feel like it's part of trading process, you just have to control those moments.

we're humans. we get frustrated, angry, scared and all of that. i think when people say trade without emotions, i think it means, just controlling it, not eliminate it. I dont think emotions can be elimnated from trading, UNLESS, you use a robot to trade.

one thing that i haven't done with my journal is to assign tags to all the setups I use to monitor and see how they perform at each session (asian, euro, us). So going to start doing it going forward.

I had one trading lesson today. Don't trade distracted. I had a nice short opportunity at 10am, but took the setup like 7 mins later and it failed. Taken at the right time, i would've taken profit.

Goes to show that my entries have expiration time. And the lesson going forward is, if i miss it for any reason (while sleeping, at work, etc.) then don't bother taking it if price comes back again once original trade had hit profit

i was recording my trading and playing around with some effects within xsplit. something that i can use for my youtube intro. And let me tell you, how the music/speech played while it's live recording was in sync with my trade it's so much in step, i was in awe. so i think this will be my intro.


the part where muhammad ali came in..my trade took off. its' so sickkkk!!

Again, my tilt trigger has always been missed trades or incorrect execution.

I know i keep coming back again and again, but the video i posted, the moment i tilted was at 0:30 mark where i missed a long order. Because of that, i INCREASED my breakout order from 3 to 6 contracts, and again another 6 due to greed.

so tilt spiraled to greed, then when i lost the tilt was in full motion to make back the loss.

anyway

this video is a good sum up that poker pros make mistakes, but minimizing it is key.

Thanks for sharing. I believe my tilt is "easy money trades" i.e. a decent move (easy money with quick hits!) coupled with floating/realized profits is just not good enough for me so getting into "Hey, today is my lucky day. Lets push my luck further" mode with aggression. Majority of times, I end up giving "easy money" back to the market :-(

I finished viewing all your videos and still have no idea how you trade man. Wondering if any of your NQ strategies are shared anywhere in your journal? I am asking because I am interested in VWAP which I believe you use as well.

Just my 2 cents... If this is your way to video log your journal then shouldn't you record every inch of what you see/think/feel/act/action/etc and not just on M1. I am looking into doing this myself (but privately just for my own log). Could you please share how much HDD storage space an hour of livestream recording would take?

i do use vwap. Depending on where price is at start of session, i will either fade towards vwap or trade the trend with vwap. it depends on how long the vwap trend been holding or the strength of the last hour going through the vwap zone (my version of thrust bar where i avoid fading).

My fade usually involved 2-3 positions since vwap is dynamic and you can't really just fade off one level. my levels are based off high/low and congestion levels

Sometimes fade fails, and i go into breakout mode.

my stops is based on where price is at end of the hour. i check every hour. if it's significant enough i close it (yes, i do have max loss stop for all positions on the setup). The hour to me is the universal timeframe. I just notice how things always revolve around the hourly and what you do will depend on where it is within the market structure. So i dont' exit based on "price action"..but on the end of hour price.

i don't do videos everyday. what i do is take screenshot with the execution arrows and post it to my tradervue journal. I can link the videos that i do from time to time. As long as i'm consistent in the videos, then i can get good idea how i execute in conjunction with the screenshots i take everyday.

since i have half day to go vote, i'm going to stream today. maybe explain my thought process going into it.

currently down about -$800. no biggie. was down -$3800 yesterday and managed to get out with $1000 profit after 2 hours in US session...

So you are also dealing with this shit at work.... I kid you not, I have traded while on conference calls many times LOL and 99% of my lost gains stem from distraction from work or personal life. I am literally thinking of renting a studio apartment just so I can trade in peace with 100% focus.... just me and my best bud (dog) who would follow me even if I need to take a leak! Fortunately, he knows not to move a muscle when I am on phone calls or working on my laptop :-
