Don't this wicks touching the zone remove freshness?

You are absolutely correct. The zone as of the time the picture was draw was no longer fresh because prices had returned to it. However, i was speaking in terms of the time before price returned there.

Weekly
Weekly in downtrend. High on curve. Permission to look for sells.
Momentum down.

Since Momentum is still intact we are allowed to sell 4h supply.
After forming 4h dbd supply i did set a sell limit order just below the zone.
Take Profit is before opposing daily demand zone.

Hello Akt, can you explain in detail about inherited zones?
When zone doesn't remove opposite zone or break trendline, but create basing and good move from, can we call it inherited supply or demand? Or call buy/sell zones and trade it only with conformation?
I think I got confused and want to clear this out, sorry for english

Thanks for the question. It is similar to the one i answered on the same topic a couple of posts back in response to Diddyy.

Please allow me t answer it again, this time in question and answer form.

Regarding zones...

When prices leave a level and travel up, what does that suggest about the price level it left from?

We know that at every price and price level there are orders to buy and orders to sell. So if the orders to buy at a particular price level equal the orders to sell how is possible for prices to leave the level and move up? Well, it isn't.

Prices move up from a level ONLY when one side of the supply-demand equation is completely nullified.
By "nullified" i mean consumed, filled.

If buy orders are nullified, prices drop from the level.
If sell orders are nullified, prices rice from the level.

So what tends to confuse most traders new to the methodology or are yet to feel comfortable with the foundations is the difference between what makes a zone a zone, the tradability/quality of a zone. The strength of the move away from a zone or how far prices moved after leaving the zone all speak of the quality of a zone.
Not all zones are created equal and not all of them are tradeable.

Assessing the quality of the zone being considered is of much more importance as it is what will help us decide whether it is worth risking one's money at those levels.

Here are some of mine, on the weekly chart.

The most appropriate action to be taken as of the time your picture was taken would be to wait for prices to reach demand and if one's trading plan allows, take the long trade at the bottom of the range, or alternatively, step aside and do nothing, watching as the market evolves.

Selling short would be a bit more challenging given the closeness to demand on the weekly chart.

thank you. It would have been better to post pictures before the trade happened. At the time the trade was taken, in my opinion there was still room for price to get lower. Would you have taken this trade, given the fact that price was above 50% curve at the time it was taken?

Im feeling stupid, because i still don't understand difference between inherited and zones and just zones of selling or buying, sorry if I am

I started to read this thread again from 1st page to renew some knowledge but got confused with one graphic and now i don`t understand how inherited zones looks like on a chart

This isn't answering your question exactly, but one thing that may be helpful to remember regarding supply and demand trading if you get confused with various zones and their interactions with other zones is to just remember to simplify things. Either you have a good level to trade from or you don't- meaning fresh zones, good risk reword, clear trend, good imbalance, etc or you are trying to make it fit these criteria through complicated analysis. Sometimes there is not a good trade and you have to wait and or do nothing because it isn't clear.

Hi ykn4f,

Think of Inherited zones as someone inheriting fortune from their parents, so in terms of trading inherited zones are the one that have been a reaction of a parent zone. So lets say on a daily chart you have a supply zone, and price has reacted of that zone and broken apposing demand zone, and in the process of doing so has created fresh supply zone, that fresh supply zone will be regarded as inherited zone, as it has inherited the status of supply from parent daily supply, I hope it helps.

1. The size of the first candle after base?
2, 2A Distances to the first stop of the price?
3. Distance to a price turn?

I would rather have a removal of 4hr demand (confirmation trade) before going short .
we have 1hr supply and 1hr demand removed so this would be an aggressive entry.

And some questions i have regarding the not fresh supply above price.
If Price would bere there by bow (hypothetical), what would be the most appropriate action to take.

  1. Since Price is in the middle of curve (Euquilibrium) we would look on the TrendChart to determine if longs or shorts are best. Is this always the case? Even if we are in previously tested Supply?
  2. What is guiding my decision here? Equilibrium? (so it would be the TrendChart) or the CurveTrend? (and therefore my CurveChart)
  3. What if we would see a Confirmation Entry against CurveTrend on the 4h?

Hi Som3k,

I concur with your analysis mine is the same.

regarding the Equilibrium, you have to options a) trade the trend on the intermediate time frame or b) do nothing.

you can still look for shorts but that would be counter trend and plus you will have to take confirmation trades (example remove daily demand first).
