for daytraders: ... aaand the us session once again is turning into nothingburger with zero volatility. I guess we can expect again the volatility shift from US to EU for a time being. This is happening every few months.

I don't understand why people like making things complicated. For them to take a position on EU, they'll check both the Dow and DX and then make all the correlations they can find. Read their analysis and you get yourself confused.

I prefer it the ol' simple way. Also I have found that my higher time frame hardly lies. Find the trend, wait for retracement, follow the trend. If you miss the bus, wait for another. There'll always be another. Even if one insists on checking out other correlates, is the EU chart not a reflection of what's happening there?

One ting i always doo is check my currencie strenht meter on my chart i never goo into a trade if the signal is too follow the weekest currencie i always goo with the stronger currencie,but not that alone,because it can be a small shift in power that can make the trade move away from the strongest one.....I first get signal then look at currencie strenght gives you an edge if there are big gaps beetween currencies....Just a tought...

with H4 close exactly at 1582 bull kept open chance daily close above 1604 , next h4 close ove 1594 may help though.lets see if able or fail to get refuge at 1556 again for next LO.let it have another chance for target 1629/72 in spike even , so may to go bear if next smooth. take care , fontu

I agree. I think the 'ideal' profile of a trader is someone like post, who uses Fundies to get a grasp of market sentiment/direction then technicals to snipe his entries and that's exactly what I aspire to be some day. Anything more than that seems to come out as 'noise', clouds your judgement, etc. I can see how some reference here and there to say the dollar index can give some decent insight, but to base EURUSD trades around the movements of another pair, correlating or not, seems like too much of an information overload to me.

Sometimes it's a blessing not knowing much about other pairs, correlated or not. Keeps you focused on EURUSD and only EURUSD.

I like the currency strength meter. It's fine. My post originally goes to those who check and correlate stocks, dollar index, Trump's tweets, etc., before they can place a trade. It makes the whole thing complicated.

Sometimes forex can be simple if we do the right thing. I remember Ata always challenging me to stop hesitating. And that was because of fear of the unknown, plus trying to process too many informations at once. I'm getting over it. I have taken several, several trades in the past few days with simple, straightforward analysis and I have only 2 losses with several wins. Far better than trying to analyse the whole world before entering trades and still lose.

This is exactly what I do, look at the bigger time frames to grasp an idea of the trend move for direction and determine low/high points, get an idea of how volatile it can get through reading the news and getting overall market sentiments. Watch lower time frames for entry, and determine how much you are willing to risk by setting stop loss.
That's the technical/fundamental side of trading which consists of only 50% of your trading. The other 50% of your trading is your mood. Gotta stay emotionally strong, patient and determined. Don't let greed or fear determine your entry and exits. Be assertive and like a scientist who is testing out technical theories that you developed over time.

Do we consider this bearish divergence to have finished playing out? I still see more downside to around 1.152x from which price may rise to hit higher targets.

EU 4HR chart below. I also don't like that pinbar-like candle. Points to the floor.
