Anyone else see 1470 as a good long for 1000+ pips? I can see 1.27 on EU within few months...and haters, please give me a break, didn't come here to fight and waste time, if you don't agree, go short, I don't care about anyones trades, nor am I willing to spend hours here to defend my views. Not anymore...

How much of a drawdown will you tolerate ?

Very little...I won't wait for a re-test of 1300, even if it may come. But I am looking in another direction looking at the USDX chart. I wouldn't be surprised if USD index crashed towards 82.xx.

I am looking long over 1.1460, I think this is a huge area as I have shown on previous post it is a test of August's @ 61.8 Fibo

Nearer term 1.1473 bullish

Unforunetly I don't have the dx chart you want to post one ?

The sure answer is that no one knows. But for that reason anything is possible and the time to start believing it is when the majority of retail traders start believing it is going short LOL.

This is data I've been collecting just for fun from Myfxbook/Outlook since the middle of July. It's a bit difficult to read I'm afraid but the small green lines at the top are the average price of retail open longs and the magenta lines at the bottom are the average price of retail shorts. The white line is the weekly open just to make it clear where a week starts and finishes. The numbers, if you can read them, are the percentages of retailers who are long/short. As you can see (and probably already knew) price is hardly ever at a position to put either group into profit. There was a spell back in August where the retail shorts were in profit but it didn't last very long. It is now at the point where shorts may just get into profit again but who knows when it will swing again. One thing you can be sure of is that they aren't going to be putting those holding longs at an average of 1.1671 out of their misery any time soon.

I can't share the EA unfortunately as it's tied into my own myfxbook login and I'm not a good enough programmer to make it generic, but you can see the graphs by clicking on the pair name on the website - you just can't see historic data of the average long and short prices.

Whether or not this can be used usefully I'm not sure. The only thing I have deduced so far is there tends to be an interesting pattern emerging for a Friday .

Looking at the same myfxbook page as you are, but I am not so sure about that. I can see 1710 happening sooner than people think. Above that might be tricky or might shoot over very fast, who knows. I still remember the price howering around 1750-1850 for quite some time and then shooting above 2500 within weeks. 1670+ might come even this month, looking at the monthly chart.

Sure. My only point is that price never moves to put the majority into profit - this is a very sobering thought.

I know what you mean...but those figures are changing with the price. If euro keeps going up, people will be adding shorts(and closing longs) and those will be in bigger and bigger loss then...same thing on the way down and adding longs.

I usually use heiken-ashi to have an idea about the strength of the trend. all time frames, from 4h to monthly are red.
of course, anything can happen, but i think the chances of going lower are bigger than going up so i am betting for short on longer term.

Yes, exactly. We can expect to see price move up when the majority of retail traders are short or they come more into balance. Cynical but true . So don't be in too much of a hurry to load up.
