By the way, the 1 trade loss on Friday was from GBPUSD and it was 15 mins before the Red news. So I think it is also good to turn off EA during Red news. Could be good could be bad to leave it on.

Yes- that's what tried as well (2:1). The issue is the first 50% gets banked easily however since the stoploss is moved to BE, the other 50% eventually gets closed at BE. So essentially, only 33% of the profit is made. However, when a stop loss is hit its 100% loss. So 1 loss can undo 3 wins. If the stoploss is NOT moved to BE could that increase chances of win (?). Can that be done with the current version?
I asked xm7 about closing trade at the opposite signal, but he said the results were not good. Have anyone tried the type freebie3C option?
Also. I think the results are better at 1H and still many trades. With 15 min time frame there are many trades and wins however when the EA starts losing it eats up the profit real fast.

Has someone tried 4H timeframe?

I knew the original was from original riles but i do not know about freebie 3c is following what rules.
Yes, you are right. Opening trade is easy but the managing part is difficult. In the end, probably still have to do it manually. Let the EA looks for trade and human management.
The EA is opening trade even when the bar is too long. Like yesterday, GBP shoot up 100pips and retrace back 30pip, the EA open trade on the next bar which make the SL 70pips and TP 140pip. I think it is too far stretched. Need a check on the max signal bar length which in this case would not have enter. I will let it run without intervention to see the final at the end if the month.
So there are 2 floating loss for GU and GY. At the moment from close of LO, equity still in positive from previuos day. I will do update at the end of the week.

Would it be possible to make the EA run on offline charts (renko)? I tried but EA didn't open any trades.

It should run. The only thing that could affect it is if the indicators never line up with it. I think someone was running it in that mode a couple of years ago (LOL).

As soon as I get a chance I will take a look myself..

Can you please add autotrend=200sma to the v60 (Actually if you have an option for choosing the ema, that would be great.)
If you wish you could add other options to the autotrend, which do not need additional indicators to function. I feel that system works well as long as we are in sync with the higher time frame trend.
I tried running v57 which has 200sma but it hasn't opened any trades even on m1 (just for testing purpose) with autotrend set to none. Additionally v57 tends to crash my computer.
Offline charts are not vital just a curiosity, you can ignore for now.

End of week review:

1. Ran the EA on 15 mins chart, with trand off, many trades were taken. Up and down ending the week at -3%.
2. Ran another set on 1 hr chart, lesser trades but more quality ones. Up and down too, ending the week at +1.5%.

Found bug where trades are opened on the 5th candle even setting the candle for semafor at 3 candles away.

I think using this EA on a 1 hr chart to open trades and semi manual managing it is still profitable for the current version.
The coming week i will stop the 15 mins chart and run it on 1 hr chart and semi manual manage it as and when needed and see how was it and evaluate end of next week.

Also autotrend=_short is not working, so can't test the v60 with any autotrend options except linebreak (results not good) or none. Perhaps if the mql code is shared in this thread, we could make some minor updates ourselves instead of having to reach xm7 for each request. Especially since he is busy with other projects.

Send me the log, lets see if there are any clues in there as to what happened. I would luv to share the source code but it has to much of my approaches, that I have yet to see anyone else employ. Not to say that there are way better programmers out there but some of the stuff I do is not done .anywhere ..

But I am tempted to release it. If I do release it, I am not going to be around to support it. I have seen many coding friends get bitten in the butt for releasing source code LOL. So if I ever do release it I will also release total ownership and become just a simple trader

I'll take a quick look on that. It should be working cause it is just a simple case of comparing the trades operation to what you have selected... The case might be that for whatever reason the code is not reached so nothing happens like that.

Update to EA v61

I made a couple of adjustments to the upperTrend function as well as the selection of the UseAutoTrend menu.
Also I added print statements right before the EA decides what it will trade and also RIGHT BEFORE IT ACTUALLY opens a trade.
All that stuff is printed in the expert log.

You will also see what the high trend is from time to time.

So please next time show me the expert log. It should have alot of information we can use to determine what is going on.

Thanks for the updated EA. The reason I said that autotrend=_short is not working is that I tested it on strategy tester for a couple years on m15 timeframe and it didnt open any trades. It worked for autotrend=(_long, linebreak and none). Additionally, it didn't open any trades on live account either for aututrent=_short. I will figure out how to get the expert log next time if needed, hopefully it wont be needed

I added started the EA but could not find any of the adjustments that you mentioned. Can you please check if uploaded the correct version

Here's a screenshot of autotrend=_long_ and autotrend=_short_, please see the arrow.

Also can you please add _200sma (and other moving averages, if possible) to autotrend.

Loaded the v61 Freebie Ea and tried for a couple of days. It is loaded with another EA so that is why the Terminal has so many entries. I used default except today I changed the SL figure because it looks as if it is too tight, so that the four previous trades taken, two sere stopped out prematurely because of too tight SL.
This looks promising.

Please check the following picture. In the journal, the bar check set to 3 but the EA still check on bar 4 and 5 and open trade. Have not seen check on bar 6 so I guess is until bar 5.
Also, the EA keep opening position after price went to BE and condition is still right. The EA close the BE trade and immediately open another sell as you can see.

Besides the above bugs, the EA running from 1st Oct to 14th Oct for 2 weeks gained 8.3% on balance.
Running on 1 hr chart on pairs EU, EY, Gold, UY.

EA UPDATE v62

1. Fixed the candle count for detecting how far back a 3sema was detected
2. added back several higher MA functions to the UseAutoTrend menu
3. Fixed the issue with higher trend not being detected when _short_ is selected on UseAutoTrend menu.
4. Added a Close All button (will only close freebie trades with same magic number)
5. Added a profit threshold input. Use this to control what the pip profit the last trade should be at for when using the
input "Add New Trade Only if Last Trade is in Profit"

Since it is the weekend I have not tested the close button. Please let me know if you have any issues with it. Thnx
