if this indicator good Volume Profile?, id like to spots nodes and pocket gaps, this one its relaiable? or there is another one better? Thanks!

Hi Jesse292,

Finally I found the buyers-vs-sellers indicator (only the ex4, not the mq4) on the net, but it is off. It is the one on the top right corner on your screen. In my mt4 the green boxes are lower than they suppose to be and cover the numbers. I tried to change the parameters, but they revert to the old ones. I guess it's possible to change them in the mq4. Do you happen to know what's happening, why this thing is off? The Metatrader I am using is version 4 build: 1090.

Hej friends

where can i find poc point of control indicator that show me only

1/daily poc ?
2/daily poc + weekly poc ?
3/daily poc + weekly poc + monthly poc ?

i have mp.ex4 but if you know another indicators it will be great

Should be doable with three instances of the ay-MarketProfileDWM indicator...

Hi Jesse292,

The high numbers (3860, 12668, etc) are the Volume. The higher the numbers are, the more volume has been traded on that level. This results in longer horizontal line - the fairest price in that session that the bears and the bulls agreed on. On the picture your Diamond shape (VPOC) and Rectangle shape (POC) are on the same spot. This means that the most volume (VPOC) has been traded for the longest time (POC) on that particular level. There are times when VPOC separates from POC.

The small numbers (1.5, 2.1, etc.) are the volume ratio. As far as I know Volume Ratio = Up Volume / Down Volume. The ratio compares the total amount of Volume of Up Days against Down days in price. Fore example, the value 1.5 means that 1.5 times more shares/money advanced than declined on that particular session or day. The Volume Ratio that's set in the indicator is usually 1.5. Also, you should look for trades that have values higher than 1.5. Anything above 1.0 means that the Up Volume is higher than the down volume.

Also, look into Initial Public Offering basis or IPO basis, because Volume Ratio I think is best traded in relation to them. When the market clears an IPO base (for example cup and handle, flags, ascending triangles) then look for 1.5 Volume Ratio or higher. On the bottom of the profile, at the Excess, you have 1.5 Volume Ratio which means that there is more Volume over the Upside than the Downside. Now, you'll have to find out how to trade this. I am not sure.

I gave you some pointers, but since I am not proficient with this, you should make your own research and verify the rights and wrongs in my comment.

I corrected the end of my third paragraph. Read it again. I looked at the last week's Asian Session and I see that at the top the K period, 8 hours into the market, has 3.3 volume ratio. Although in K period the Up Volume is 3.3 times higher than the Down Volume, right after it, the market broke out of the range and plummeted 221 pips. I really don't know for now how to trade volume ratio. However, K is a relatively good Excess (you need minimum 2 single characters) and an ok indication to short the market.

I looked at other profiles too and it looks to me that when there is a high volume ratio then the market is just entering or exiting a range or some sort of a formation. But, I would have to analyze it further to verify it. Since, I am doing something else right now, I am not sure when I'll have time. Until then I hope that my observation was an inspiration to you or others.

I also see that sometimes the volume ratio is very high, yet the volume traded is very low. The relationship between these is a mystery to me, yet I feel is significant.

If anybody can add more to Volume Ratio and its relationship to Volume, is more than appreciated.

Thanks Jagg for posting the updated ay-MarketProfileDWM Market Profile indicator. It usually works without a problem except for today on the EURNZD pair it causes MetaTrader to freeze. I suspect that it's because today the EURNZD chart developed a gap when the market moved 147 pips down within 45 minutes. Just after 30 minutes of that move the market gapped about 4 pips. It seems like it doesn't matter what timeframe you attach the indicator to because I tried it on the EURNZD M15 and H1 timeframes and the same problem occurred. Can anyone fix this indicator to solve this problem? Thanks.

im a newbie and trying to understand this market profile... i just know the inital balance, point of control and volume high and low... but still i cant get it on how to spot a trade... what to look for if i want to buy? what to look for if i want to sell...? can someone tell me what to look for? i promise to learn fast... please guys.. i really need help..
