H1-M15 Status Update

Fixed LO to LO trendline on H1.. Please ignore my previous chart from earlier this morning (*seems like nobody noticed

lol)

1.1756 is potential support (Calculated with RED TL to GREEN LWMA line estimated intersection) and generally speaking: SL of any long trades should be safe 5 pips below it.

It looks like trend is maybe slowly shifting towards bullish side, but since GREEN line is flat-ish, I don't rush. My short trade is still running! In case of a RED TL breakout I would cancel my short and open a fresh long order with help of M5.

Always felt that entering immediately after being stopped out, invalidates the wisdom of having a BE SL there as at then. If being stopped out as at then does not imply change of market dynamics by your analysis, then having an SL as at then and hoping to reenter if stopped out does you no good. (Just making money for the broker). Having that SL there as at then may be unnecessary. SL is meant to protect when market dynamics change and not be a hindrance. If SL was to protect, why jump back immediately into what you're protected from?

The art of SL and Trailing SL is one of the finest details that make certain traders special. I'm still trying to learn it though.

I'm still in the 2nd long order, has been running for 3 hours now.
Took the trade based on BO of the angled trendline. I know I'm following the rules mechanically, but that's only too get used to spotting entries. Next stage will be picking the trades that have more potential than
others

I don’t disagree. Reversing immediately is probably just ‘revenge trading’ in most situations. However, in this case I see it as 2 separate trades/situations and not a ‘oh I got stopped out so I’m gonna reverse to make up for it’ thing.

I was already getting signals on M15 and M5 to dump my buy when price couldn’t touch 1.1775. I should’ve dumped my buy there and then but I didn’t listen even though my bias had already shifted when I expected a solid pull at 1.1775/1.1780 area so that was my bad. Once I got stopped out, I observed a little and when price approached that level again I just took it.

It's pretty damned amazing to watch what happens in the last couple minutes of that hourly bar. They'll spend 58 minutes on the opposite end and then close in the last 2 or 3 minutes at the other end.

A while ago I noticed the same anomaly, and was thinking to code something for that [ a scalping EA], but when I checked it back, I found out that it doesn't necessarily affect the direction of the following bar, so it was 50/50, no edge..

Sorry I wasn't following your trade before I posted that. I didn't mean that one must reverse position immediately one is stopped out. Surely that's revenge trading too. I mean after being stopped out (for properly placed SL), one needs to reassess the market dynamics and then decide which position to take. "Being on the sidelines" is a position too I believe. If one is stopped out and market dynamics still point in his initial direction, that SL wasn't properly placed or for a properly placed SL, the market isn't suitable for that person's strategy at that time & calls for being on the sidelines.

This my personal belief, don't know if I'm right. The art of of properly placing SL is one detail I'm struggling so hard to learn.
