The only reason why trader loss is they move on to trading live accounts too early...imo you need at least 24months of stable profit making on demo before you are assured of any success if you move on to live trading...if you cant handle a demo you might just as well just quit and get a job at WallMart or FootLocker

Yep. Traders should take step into live trading only if they have been performing consistently well on demo for some time. Winning trades>losing trades. Otherwise they'll be doomed to lose in live trading as well. Better to find something else to earn money

Demo generally not works , because we trader here with no analysis . as a result without time passing we get nothing from here. That’s why micro account we have to take instead of this trading place.

Actually, it depends on your mentality, when you have clean learning mindset & enough preparations; then demo would be enough to learn! Otherwise, practicing in the live account would be valueless.

we lose from here , because we want actually. if anyone want to make profit from here , work hard for 4-5 years.

Surviving in the forex world is not so easy. I have seen so many people who start trading with the unrealistic expectations but they don't have any idea that how hard it is to make consistent profits here and how easy it is to loose money if you don't have proper knowledge.

I agree. Most of those people get a very unpleasant awakening when they lose money due to either getting scammed or just because they don't know how to trade yet. Then they either double down on getting better or quit altogether.

I think, traders need to focus on the learning process; and they shouldn’t target any specific year or month! Because, it’s not same for all of the traders.

If they're reading the wrong advice that could lead to losses, yes. But forums like Forexfactory can also be immensely helpful.

There is no way to avoid learning in Forex trading , but in spite of good learning approach trading can be useless if there is no regular practice environment, so besides learning it is more appropriate to ensure regular practice session.

I agree with that. You have to trade on demo account with the same mindset and strategies as you would trade on live account. Even though you're trading with fake money you have to tell yourself it is as good as real in order to make the best use of demo trading.

Yes mate, that’s the procedure. Demo is the best way to learn Forex without any cost. Yes, you are investing your time & hard work here, but the result is very profitable.

We should not focus on the profitability in demo account at the first sight. In fact, our profitable demo turns out loss in live due to difference in risk perspective. Don't get me wrong, demo is useful for us to practice consistency, apply or produce new habits related to trading, producing suitable strategy with healthy lifestyle plan, only then we can start the small account in live. Profitable in demo means nothing to the output of live.

But we try to be profitable in demo by trading at random; as a result we got nothing from here. Consistence practice in demo can bring more knowledge and experience but need a great patience first of all that really rare.

In fact, the key to success in trading is emotional discipline. If intelligence were the key, there would be a lot more people making money trading.

It simply because most traders do not know how to protect their money,
Money attracts more money more than anything else, and before you can attract more money, you have to learn and respect first the money.
In trading our number one priority should be not to loss money, so we can make more money if there is the right opportunity

I think it is a combination of both. Nothing works in isolation. But yes importance of emotional stability is often overlooked by many traders.

most of the traders we have depend on luck and trade at random with no analysis , its the reason behind losing.

I'd suggest most traders fail because they don't properly understand the game and its demands, and they don't apply themselves the necessary amount to fully learn.

Trading is a probability game. You really don’t know how any individual trade will work out, all you can do is trade a proven statistically robust method with a small edge in your favour, accept all the winners and losers equally and hopefully end up with a net profit at the end. It requires discipline, consistency, excellent risk control and emotional stability.

The above argument means you can fail by not doing properly just any one of the following:
- not really understanding/accepting the inherently probablistic nature of trading
- not fully testing & practising your method so you have confidence in it to withstand inevitable losing patches
- your method not having a proven statistically robust edge in the first place
- lacking discipline and consistency in any of trade selection / trade management / risk control
- insufficient emotional stability to deal with winners & losers equally without leading to greed or revenge feelings
- insufficient work on a comprehesive trading plan and/or insufficient practice and experience in demo/tiny size
- insufficient trading capital. You must only risk a very small % of your account per trade.

Given all the above pitfalls, it's hardly surprising there is such a high failure rate. As many have said on this thread, trading is tough, precisely because of this suite of critical demands. That said, if you are willing to properly commit and work at it, reasonable consistent profitability is achievable.
