HiddenGap, would you trade this setup at yours SharpShooter strategy? To be exact, I care only about bar marked "1". Would you consider it as Bullish UHV ? Personaly i prefer it be down bar. Or for example you count ub bar as bullish if it's Open < BPL and Close > BPL?

USDCAD, Fibbed the HV bar from August 30th which was an absorption day that pushed price out from the previous lows.

Took a 2 bar off the high of the bar, would like to take it up to 3075-3100 area, but probably trail with with a stop.

Same trade as before.

I took a 2 bar reversal on M30, I closed this trade out 2 hours later by mistake thinking it was trade I had open on NZDCAD, so I had to re enter the USDCAD trade at a higher price.

Thinking USDCAD should see at least 3170.

Added a 2nd trade off New York open zone.

The first trade if I hadn't accidentally closed the trade would've been a 20:1 RR. The reopened trade plus this current trade are both 10:1 RR. Not bad, this trade cost me 2% to open from the loss of yesterday, if both of the current trades fail the total cost of it would be 6%. But if the two current trades hit TP then looking at a gain of 40% minus the 2% from yesterday.

You have to love Volume and zones.

Yes, you certainly do.

It's a smoothed 12 period moving average of the Balance Point (H+L+C)/3 offset 7 periods into the future.

I have different view about Zone, why we as VSA trader should use zone to enter our trade, in my opinion if we wait zone for confirmation we will miss many opportunities and also about moving average .... we dont need it at all (just my opinion), we also will miss the opportunity ... our entry will be late (just my opinion), ok maybe we want to be safe by entering the trade ... but for VSA trader it should be enough with a proper money management we can take the risk to take an early entry because with VSA we can identify the underlying trend, with VSA we can also recognize if it is the main trend or just a retracement trend and we can also identify where around the retracement trend will be end (just look at the background)

Ok let me explain with example above AUS/USD, EUR/USD and XAU/USD (I wrote possible entry on the pics) and I think next week we will see that the price will go up again because the selling movement has a weak base (lets see, I could be wrong).

Ok guys, sorry if my trading style a bit different ... i just want to write about my opinion (maybe it can be useful for someone here) ... i could be wrong off course .... by the way if you mean that zone or moving average will be helpful for you and you can trade well with it ... just continue to use it ... and just forget about my opinion ... there are many trading style and more important is to find a system that suitable for you ....

Thank you for your post. All VSAers are welcome here. This is a supportive community. Nobody is telling anybody there is only one way to VSA. I hope you continue to post your views so we can all learn from one another.

With that said, I have to disagree that you would know the trend is down because of VSA. This is a 1 hour chart of XAU/USD so we can compare "apples to apples".



Yes the moving average (BPL) and the Chart Modes I & II are mixed and sometimes get you in "Late". But you are focusing only on what they get you into, not what they keep you out of.

As for the Volume Zone itself.



I would concede that waiting for the Trigger Line setup can get you in "Late". But if you use the Bias line to determine trade direction, you have an early indication of the path of least resistance. One can also take trades at the Quarter Lines (Fast Trigger Lines) for earlier entry. What you are failing to recognize here is the power of consistency. Trade setup at these level so often that it is hard to see them as mere coincidence. A zone trader can have more confidence when pulling the triggers, because he has a plethora of examples to fall back on.

Note that in this picture a Zone trade could have easily taken a trade at the Bias Line, knowing why that trade at that place. This is the "what you want to see, where you want to see" concept.

But in the end, You do you. Keep posting.

You are one of best trader here, I learn a lot from you, so i agree with all your above explanation.

I just want to explain why I think that we can recognized that we will go down on XAU/USD. On 14th September we can see that US was selling followed with weak buying bar, so the temporary trend will continue to the next day. On the next day Japan trader still on buying mode (but weak base so the base will be cross again) so I will wait till seeing any selling mode or buying weakness then I will make an entry (because of selling mode from US trader). On Europe/London season i found a buying weakness bar so a selling entry (as simple as that but off course i use a proper money management just in case i'm on the wrong analysis) , and where it will go down? Look back on 12th September where the weak base of buying movement (at the moment we are exactly at that point). So temporary down movement is weak in my opinion because its weak base and also Japan trader and early Europe/London Trader was buying .... Lets see what will happen next week in my opinion the top will be cross again....

So its the logic behind my VSA Trading system, i will try to recognize the movement and its base, and I also try recognize what happen in every season what the Japan, Europe/London and US Trader are doing ... will they do changing the main trend or they will just bring the movement up or down to just get the better entry (as retracement).... so in my logic i dont care about zone and dont care about moving average what I care most what the trader (big boys) do in their time that is what I mean about the understanding of the background movement.. I just want to follow it then . ..

So if VSA Trader can understand the underlying movement of the background they can optimized entry point and also the optimized target, and the next interesting thing is, they will be able to add positions till the target get reached.

The next question will be, how can I recognize the underlying trend (main trend or retracement) so that i can follow the dynamic of movement .... guys, just do your homework, you can scroll back the history of the movement then try to understand with VSA why is moving up and down, what is the logic behind it .... with VSA you can also minimize the risk because the understanding of the background movement .... above all of that you need a proper money management that in case your entry is not optimized but you know mostly that the movement will go to your direction ... the VSA pattern it repeats again and again ... try to recognize it ....

Ok back to XAU/USD if I see the H4 ... it could be that the base from 11th September will tested before going up (the base of down movement is weak) .... lets see

And I want to give possible entry positions to add entry 1, entry 2 and entry 3 (between Entry 1 and Entry 2, that is nice area to add more positions again, because you almost sure that the price will go to the target 1)

Finally, some healthy debate on this thread.

While I am not the Volume Zone Analysis (VZA) expert, I feel confident in making the following statement:

The entire basis for a Volume Zone, or Trigger Lines/Numbers is, volume equals activity.

Activity by whom? Well, approximately 95%-98% of a volume bar represents the activity of the Smart Money (the big boys). Therefore, If one pays attention to the highest volume bar, one is paying attention to the interval where the big boys were the most active. Even if you don't know what they did (and VSA can tell us this), you know where they did it.

Pres78 coined the phrase, " Volume at Volume". That phrase can be broken down into two parts:

(1) Smart Money, or Big Boy, activity at a level of previous Smart Money, or Big Boy, activity.
(2) The lack of Smart Money, or Big Boy, activity at a level of previous Smart Money, or Big Boy activity.

We can agree to disagree on many points, but we must absolutely agree on this: Volume Zone Analysis (VZA) traders trade in the shadow of the Smart Money.

my first position in EUR/USD, target is the top from last friday .... lets see ... i could be wrong as always ...

Anyone looking to short eurusd? prices are at pres78 high volume 50% zone(dotted black line) from yesterday. Also forms a confluence of fib 61.8% on the 1H swing. will be looking for any possible No demand entries.

Not until I see clear SOW showing sellers in control and buyers gone. We are currently above that 50% level from yesterday and above high of today's zone so for now bulls remain firmly in control. No shorts for me on EU.

Made a great target for longs today though. Location where we can expect to see possible volume at volume either as absorption / adding of longs or possible profit taking which could lead to some possible scalp shorts but nothing more than that for now.
