I need help on trading the news in general.<?xml:namespace prefix = o ns = "urn:schemas-microsoft-com:office:office" /><o></o>

<o> </o>

Usually when a news release comes out, I land in deep waters….<o></o>

<o> </o>

My trading strategy is as such for the EURO

<o> </o>

  1. I follow the Macd 1hr for the day, that usually lands me a few pips but sometimes I’m only a few pips in the green or just below so I can’t quit before the news<o></o>
  2. I then place a hedge trade 10 pips away from the market price 1min before the news comes out.<o></o>
  3. If it doesn’t pick it up, I’m fine, but when it does it sometimes retraces and I’m sitting with a unwanted hedge that I need to work out, and mostly liquidate with a loss<o></o>
  4. I’m not sure how to read the previous / forecast/ actual ;<o> </o>

The Previous was -4.3, the forecast was -2.5, this tells me that less home will be build by the USD, which tells me that the USD will decline and thus I will Buy euro (which the macd indicated as well) the report come out on -2.1, and it picked up my 10 pip short, what does this mean and how should I ajust my trade<o></o>

  1. I do not know where to get the immediate actual results<o></o>

<o> </o>

Suggestions in short steps to follow will be appreciated<o></o>

assumption that USD will decline is wrong, because the expected result is already included in price

news trading as about comparing actual reasult with expectation, not expectation with "last"

I am not into all of that hedging business. The trade you are in is either good or bad. The only thing a hedge ever saves is the spread. It is either a good trade or not.

The seconds the news is out, I always jump quick on whatever direction the pair is going, even if it gaps up or down, I can almost always make a decent profit...I never do that straddle BS.
