No, it's actually on EURUSD, but its still trader's fault. When I saw it can survive a 500 pips drop on EURUSD on ratio 1000:0.01, I slowly increase it to 5 times that, and in the process, I change the setting in the Asia trading time( my time), which does not have volume, so nothing is happening except the EA set a new but buy limit using the new 0.05 base lot times the cycle its in, (@rodolfolm this is nothing wrong with code on this part, I think) but the program haven't clear the current cycle its in. So, that new big sell stop order got take place after it dropped another 500 more pips. This is one of the reason that it blew.

A second reason, is because i didn't change the corresponding max lot from 1 to 3.

PS don't try too may pairs on demo, because its a demanding EA on trading server, I got a warning from IC because I try to test 6 pairs at the same time.

sorry for my missing I had some problems to solve and I could not continuo the project going.


I'm implementing the filter below which I believe will help in demotion by running into multiple pairs.

Currency Filter:
Stop opening currency deals if there are already trades on this direction. Filter forbids opening trades on the same currency at the same time. If Currency Filter = 0 – filter Off. Currency Filter value mean delay to open orders after signal the appearance in seconds For example, you open on EURUSD to BUY, that means that you freeze deals opening on EUR to BUY, and on USD to SELL. So USDCAD to BUY will open, and GBPUSD to BUY will not (only SELL). But a new deal on EURUSD to BUY will open. (The delay is necessary to avoid the entrance at the same currencies when signal appeared in one tick for several pairs).

other possible soluction:
MaxDD Release Percent:
Drawdown that, when reached, removes block forbidding to trade.

I have the mindstorm project to create an EA with several sensors and strategies to act intelligently against the obstacles of asset price movement

for this I am initially creating several sensors and engines to add everything in one future and as the market takes action it adapts.

Hello everybody
We all know grid is good for ranging and bad for trend.
So, how do you protecting from blowing the accounts?
Is there any security feature in the EA that after xxxDD will stop opening trades?
Is there an entry condition to target just ranging markets?
I'm using a grid system manually. When the grid level are more that 10 usually the DD is too high for me and I'm forced to accept the loss and move on.

The best way is to hedge orders one by one after some lot or some DD with their own partial tp and SL range .And perhaps it can also be considered to restrict the pip distance of new open orders,means EA dont open any extra order before pip distance between the last openned order,comes to some value.

Could you please expand your idea.
Let say I open a sell at 0.01lot and call this order Sell0.
Price goes against me by let say 20 pips.
If now I hedge this Sell0 opening a Buy1 at 0.01lot I still suffering a floating DD and that DD soon or layer will be a loss.
I understood correctly your idea?

When orders are openned with for example 0.04 lot EA will open %80 hedge of that order.This hedge order will have its own partial TP and SL.İt wont open hedge orders till 0.04 lot seen(when on step lot option).So we shall limit looses on long trend by the way.Or we can make this hedging according to DD also.Aim will be the limitting the looses .İf we make compact hedging then the account profit will be locked on inverse movements.Eitherly it will be better to limit the number of orders by adding pip distance filtration perhaps.As a summary on my hedging model,hedge orders wont effect other orders closing rules that predicted on options.
İt was just an idea,and hoping that Rodolpho will consider about this idea.He knows better.

Let me give a different point of view.
Till now I didn't found any safe grid strategy.
Soon or later you will face a big trend and account will blow.

What about accepting that danger fact.

Use what ever grid strategy you have and withdraw regularly the profit.
If withdrawn money are more the initial balance no fear of blowing account because you already made money.
If withdrawn is less than initial balance and you blown the account than you just lost money.
It's just a probability game overall. Isn't it?

Yes its a probability game but as you know there are oversold or over bought levels.So we must protect accounts till those points.We will have loss on those strategies that are trading against trend.So if we limit looses with such ways like hedging we can protect our account till trend turns.But hedging mustnt be so rigid becouse we dont know when trend will turn.We can name this as light hedging.Aim is to limit the accounts loss by profitting from hedge orders.And when trend turns loose not much from hedging orders.

I agree with you.
The problem is just account size and draw-down.
On USDCAD my first order was Buy0 and price went against me.
To rescue the loosing trade I use a manual grid.
After 10 pips I opened Buy1+Sell1.
After 10 pips I opened Buy2+Sell2 but I took profit from Sell1.
After 10 pips I opend Buy3+Sell3 but I took profit from Sell2.
etc...
After a bit a increased the grid size to 2o pips, 25 pips and 30 pips.

Price just continued to fall with a small pullback not enough to come out at BE.

At certain point my DD reached 10% of account balance and that was too much for me to resist and I was already at 12 or 13 grid level.
Never reached grid levels so high before.

continue to fight the trend or cut the loss?
I cut the loss taking around 10% loss.

I was looking into the code of the xbest v2.2 and I was trying to figure out what this lines mean
