Longed the heavy bid stacks, some aggressive shorts are piling into CNH. 10 second setup, backed by M1 asymmetric pullback structure.

Probably a bit slower week in setup numbers and liquidity , US markets closed on 4th and also partially closed on 3rd. Just for heads up.

Took another set of longs on bid stacks of USDCNH. On M1 they are not visible. It is very clear expression of chart and market behaviour that Chinese markets are being not just hit by outflows of "long" capital, but also under pressure of shorts both on currency and equity side.
This is a more rare pattern in currencies but it is quite often in lower liquid equities, where usually the asset will be hit on panic flows and drop consistently without any retrace, being placed under SS short restriction where the shorts will jump onto any up tick towards the ask.

This is now opening long term same play that we had in 2014 on Russia where the US with help of Saudis placed an economic barricade on the Russia and as the capital starter to fly the Russian central bank was really in between difficult decision, to not hike rates could destroy the currency but potentially over short term save the economic bear impact, or to hike and cut the growth and also short term saving the currency. Its either decision to be now put forward to PBOC, most likely the hikes on CNY/CNH will come but question is how far will PBOC let the CNH drop before the move is taken.
The move on USDCNH is by no means done yet, over next months this will progress higher and higher (not counting in bearish pullbacks) until the move is taken.

USDCNH pullback leg rotation. Potential flagship play of the day. Shanghai looks like it could bounce though, which would make the setup fail.

USDCNH stopped out for 1 R loss. There was a huge 1 second spike on IQ feed, not sure what caused could be large order or just miss-pricing. No print on ECN markets .

Covered one more attempt on long, this time worked well . Sold for 3 R gain on HH bake. Shorts are still aggressively building bid stacks pushing a forward momentum on China.

On US equity markets today focus on short setups since SP500 took a rather strong dive. Markets chewing on trade war from all sides.

Wachturm that short should have not been taken. The move outside of structure was too big, once that happens structure is no longer tradeable. If it was a clearout move (very strong and quick move with quick reversal) then fine, but in this case was very steady consistent slow move.
However you should have longed the structure after the demand gave away, that would be decent attempt.
