EURUSD moved sideways in a trading range between 1.1508 and 1.1644. As long as 1.1644 resistance holds, the sideways movement could be treated as consolidation for the downtrend from 1.1851, and further decline towards 1.1300 area is still possible after the consolidation. On the upside, a breakout of 1.1644 resistance would indicate that the short term downtrend had completed at 1.1508 already, then further rally to 1.1750 area could be seen.

Starting from next week MONDAY: 1.1645 will either become support or resistance.. highly crucial level as of today.. so write it down and make use of it in your trading plan.. my two cents..

I will open a new trade on Monday based on new week opening price or London opening price.. If price starts above 1.1645 I will look to buy and if it starts below I will try to sell.. SL depends on where and when I open a trade, can't tell yet.. Let's see coming week..

Just .1 lot short so no worries about loss. YET. My add to order was never triggered as we never broke below the low for the day (happened at the open 5:00pm NY time). But still holding the .1 lot short for a loss of $8.61 as I type this. Now I see an "M" so I will hold on and wait.

Target 1 reached - now monitoring a Flag formation w/TGT at 1.1690...however I'm not taking this trade as market is soon to be closed.

If you are a hardcore swingtrader like me you will never look at stops, trade to trade another day. I do not worry about weekends. It is a puzzle that will come together eventually, trade small..

For price action traders:

I made these two trades about 24 hours ago. I saw an inverted hammer (marked with red arrow) and the price dragged back down the 4H resistance. I thought its a good entry for a short trade. But 4 hours later, the trade wasn't seem to be working in my favor as the next 4H candle closed making a bullish engulfing and also closing above the 4H resistance. I closed the current trade at a loss and opened a long trade (marked with green arrow) with a target just below the next 4H resistance. Luckily, this trade closed with TP hitting. I couldn't figure out why the price went up after forming a bearish pin bar at the resistance. What are your thoughts?

Lost 8.6 pips on the first short trade and gained 30.1 on the second long trade. Would've lost more on the first trade if I hadn't manually closed.

My view for the week. I think we will visit 1556 first, then 7200 will be met with rejecting. Back down below the 2017 low to April 2017 low trend-line and stay inside the pink channel for a while. Just my thoughts.

Hi there Jass,

If every trade works then we would all be millionaires. This is a game of possibilities. Price action set ups, Elliot Waves, S&Rs , S&Ds, etc. all fails at some point. Trading is about managing the risk with a high probabilty positioning. So don't think of every single pin bar works out or every engulfing bar works out it just tells you something about the market sentimen. Saying "look there is a rejection by the crowd/market makers etc." But sentiment can change with the upcoming news feed or the given picture is not strong enough and you miss it. Don't worry about if one doesn't work out. you are lucky to close off early. For one to have an edge in trading one need to have more than just technical analysis. Look at the fundamental side as well. When trade war speaches are around markets are confused, and where there is so much uncertainty sometimes it is better to cool off and lay back till things settle. Sometimes no trade is the best trade you can take There is always another day there is always another trade to come. Don't rush and just wait the trade come to you.
