Guys I'll share a little set up I use to gauge currency strength for the day. I set up 3 time frames on the chart, H1, H4, and D1. I check it every morning and look for confluence of strength among the 7 majors over the 3 time frames, then I will cross check with my own analysis, and enter which pair I think has the most momentum. For example earlier today it was showing NU as the strongest pair so I bought it, and bagged 45 pips before lunch. This is not exactly a contrarian approach, but rather trading the strong vs the weak for the day. Hope...

OK last post as it's Friday tomorrow. Profit taking day.. If anyone is interested in the Heikin ashi this method works awesome with it.

Contrarian signals plus Heikin ashi and the RSI2 CLOSE. I did have the RSI indi for MT4 that reads from the Heikin ashi candle but seem to have lost it. I'll get another one coded.

USD/CHF has the wrong RSI setting because I'm an idiot !!

Contrarian selection in Asian session last night = CAD/JPY for a sell
The RSi2 (Heikin Ashi) went through the 30 and then it mega dropped. It works better then the line break sometimes as the line break give a confirmation that the price has broken support and resistance lines etc. Simple. Profitable and easy and without much research if the JPY will go strong overnight (U.K time)

Trade closed for £300 per lot. Well it's Friday.. and the Cad got stronger then the JPY.. Red news day for CAD

Where on that image does it say I traded 30 lots... If you read it Arubus/newstrader you will see it says £300 per LOT... Three hundred pounds profit PER LOT. That's Four hundred and One dollars if you need it converting to Dollars.

Forget this thread.... Its not worth it.. Too many loonies!

Thanks Neil, osjoe & co who have contributed to the the thread some really interesting reading & ideas here. It concurs with some trading concepts that I use. Not wanting to hijack the thread, but since COT Data was discussed if I may digress I would add the way I find the data most useful is when the commercials & large speculators get to extreme levels of opposition to each other, then at some point you will have a tipping point & a reversion back to the mean so to speak, so it can clue you in that a trend change is potentially coming & can help you get in nice & early for a long ride.

Hey Neil, from the above post, you mentioned RSi2 (Heikin Ashi). Like you, I also use Tradingview charts. We usually use HLC3 for RSI when using candlestick charts. When using HA charts, should we still use HLC3 as the source?

Scorpionfx data is taken from the last weeks/months candle... The AUD/JPY was in a big down trend. The markets are resetting and starting to make new trends etc.. The sentiment is still up... It will take weeks to reset itself - Did you take a trade?

The USD/CHF might start going back up now but don't trade it until you get the RSI2 signal.

I'm taking a well deserved rest from trading for a few weeks... The trump summit won't help us at the minute either.

Yeah, you're right. Markets are resetting. Haven't take a trade yet. You only focusing in D1 timeframe? This is what I currently have as of now in USDCHF. I'll wait a few more days for the RSI signal.

Frostpips is using the HA one available below or use the candle one - mtf alert + arrows is the heikin ashi one

The market is still resetting itself.. Keep an eye on the myfxbook data more then Scorpionfx... That is the main rule.
It's getting close.. Worth the wait. You don't want to be in trades all the time. That's how retail traders lose.
