That was too high entry, better wait for price to pull back and enter on bounce of trendline / supply line. Always use liquidity gap area into your advantage as that is where likely price will bounce.

i guess i need to calibrate my reading more for better quality setups, my thought is there's a level, but with only 2 highs, (not 3), but it's a flip, so might be worthy
then there's a clearout, then a momentum leg up, and a bad-looking shelf, lol,

on hindsight, JP's gbpaud is apparently better, i didn't see it at all......

You are structuring the thinking process around setup correctly. All i am saying is that perhaps this isnt the "best" setup to aim for in terms of quality since there were only two highs in structure and not that strong drops from supply. You are on right track, but try to focus on more stronger setups with more defined structures.

USDTRY spike along across all emerging markets, could be a surprise rate hike or FX war chest liquidation from central bank, hard to say nothing in the news yet, worth to find out though.

Huge move further, TRY in stall mode signaling that markets have not found out what the news source is, thus is very likely a surprise hike. Could turn TRY today into flagship play, but news have to be settled first.

Almost guaranteed central bank intervention as the TRY traded today at 5.000 which was likely a number CBT had on aim, the question remains if it was FX liquidation or rate hike thats what matters if TRY is to be put on a macro play today.

And the news is in, as expected emergency rate hike by 3%. Defenetly did not expect that to happen so close ahead of elections. USDTRY now placed on a very confusing macro play for next days. Since the London is about to close, markets will need to chew on that info tomorrow as soon as main London / Istanbul overlap kicks in at 10:00 AM GMT plus one time. This now opens bullish macro for TRY from rates perspective and bearish macro from elections perspective, so the macro play for TRY on bull side will only be applied tomorrow. After that its wait and see till elections. Tomorrow morning focus on bull side (USDTRY bear).
