In demo 1:100 is more appropriate for beginners level but when trading in live 1:50 can be comfortable but of course there has to be a real risk managing plan, otherwise it could be dangerous.

NO ONE understand leverage and even worst, they put the experience "level" (as in "noob/rookie trader") in the middle

Short answer: 0 leverage, demo account.
If you insist on trading live, don't worry about the leverage and instead focus on risk. If you manage your risk, leverage never becomes an issue. Pick a number, say 2% of your capital. Calculate your lot size based on the stop loss you have chosen. There are handy on line calculators around to do the math.

in a live account 50:1 or less. If you cant handle that, you have no business trading with high leverage.

Which leverage is more appropriate, it’s a tuff question to answer, because it completely depends on your trading knowledge and RM ability. But before live account we have to use high leverage in demo to see the performance how it works.

leverage can make you loser if you have non sense planning , success on using leverage always depends on mature trading plan in particularly when market moves at random. so be mature on trading and be profitable by leverage.

If your new don't use any leverage. Deposit 1k and play around on .01 until you know what your doing or you will get bitten more then you have to be at the start.

I don’t think so, trading without any kind of leverage ratio is a good task when trading , newcomers have to be knowledgeable by using leverage and how it works but of course with minimum ratio , otherwise they can be loser .

Start with low leverage and see how well you are able to handle that. Then after gaining enough experience you can move to higher leverage. You should choose your leverage keeping in mind how much risk you are willing to take and can afford to take.But most importantly you should learn to manage your risk wisely and properly.

Newbie, like really new. That would be 1:1. I know that as a beginner, you'll likely to lose the money in the first place. So why do you want to speed up to blew your account when you can grow and learn from small losses? 1:1 won't make you regret.

Years ago I read in a book about great traders like to use the minimum leverage possible, in some points there are some that only use 1:1 leverage levels.

In short, a low leverage its means security, the objective is to trade using 1:1 Leverage, but this can change by the trader style and strategy.

In my personal opinion I like use the most low level of leverage. (before ESMA Measures i used 1:25 Leverage, i think is great in security and revenue).

50:1 ir 100:1 are the safest for newbies. and also it depend with the amount you deposit and the way of trading. if you are a long term trader you should need some margin to catch the swing points but for short term trades 50:1 is more safest i guess

But isn't the main purpose of demo acc to trade as one would on a live acc with same leverage so that you get a good idea of how to trade live? Of course newbies can use high leverage on demo but then they they might lack the experience and expertise to deal with high leverage. I think it would be more appropriate for them to use low leverage in both demo and live (anything less than 100:1) and as they become more experience and used to to the process of trading they could increase it as they like. In that case when someone is looking to move higher up on the ladder of leverage, I think one should test it in demo acc first. But then again when your real money is on the line things are quite different.

Appreciate it; new traders need to work with such kind of small trading leverage; high leverage leads of quick lose.

high leverage can make profit in spite of having great risk , if there is real money management. so, it is more appropriate to make real money management before trading.
