Great job rodolfolm on the weekly updates you have been great to the community. I'm wondering what is different between xBest 2.22 and xBest 3.4 ?? I've been running 3.4 for the whole week and it is great just wondering what is the difference between both? which one is best to use.

3.4 I implemented the idea of Hedge with two xBest engines but it is not 100%.
v3.4 : you can enable xBest 1 [buy only] or xBest 2 [Sell only]
or both or if disabled works the same as xBest 2.21 (default)
I just added the functionality in xBest 2.22 because the consequence of many engines in a single EA I am working on the MindStorm project

@rodofolm Mindstorm is really really really interesting idea, I am currently looking through your code to see how to test it. "In theory", there should be very very very little "drawdown" if it does what it suppose to do.

just a quick update, am running xbest R3.4 on my vps on real account...i put some money on the table about 1 k
just by using default setting and applying both sell and buy engine mode on...with 7 pairs and here is the resultas
doubled the capital in less then 2 weeks using 0.01 as lot size..impressive we need to discus this ea more

Hy.. could you share your setting file and pairs uded?
I've tried any kind of backtest but no way to have a low DD...

well guys just using default setting keeping lot size to 0.01 and using lot percent
time frame is 15 minutes,currently using it on eurusd usdjpy gbpusd audusd usdcad eurgbp eurjpy
make sure you have a unique magic number for each pair and also for both engine sell and buy shoud have a unique magic number
am using pepperstone broker by the way
that all guys will keep you guys updated

It is a numerical ID that can be "stuck" to an order for the purpose of identification. This way a robot can distinguish its orders from other orders in the system (i.e. another robot or human) and coexist..

Thanks for sharing the details but I still have few questions for you:-

1) You said you used defaulted settings apart from the engine A sell and engine B buy being enable. How does it work, are they running parallel at the sametime? Do you not require to set your hedging level and the spread?

2) How do you define those unique magic numbers ? Honestly I do not know how these magic number works hence i do not mess with them unless i can understand.

yes when you set a different magic number for both sell and buy it works and open orders in both ways..that's how it manage to make profit
yes they run at the same time...nop i didn't set any hedging level,the robot does what it suppose to do by it self....
for magic number its just so that robot don't get confused that way a unique number is required
for example sell magic number is random 111 for buy 112
that's all as long as u keep your lot size to 0.01 i think this robot will be profitable in a long term
most important don't interfere with the robot or change anything except for what i have said..and also make sure use a vps for that or turn your pc 24/5 a week
avoid closing and opining it as this might affect the robot

Mate..very well done !

You are the first and only one who is providing us with an exact information about a proper setup on EA RV3.4 for using it on the two incorporated engines as well....
Profit factor and DD are excellent and much better than my results getting on the simple Trio EA using it on a basket with pairs almost similar than yours.

I was running xbest 2.2 with relative drawdown - and it kicked me out because that was the max. dd. I set in the settings - and so much hoped that someone is trying xbest 3.4, since it is already in the thread for a month... good to have such a result! thumbs up...

Hello expert coders,
Please see attached ex4 file (mql4 is not available) of an EA that I got from another forum.
When I made several backtests, all of them were making profits. No big drawdown.
But it seems that it has some bugs since it is not opening any positions in a live account, as per the entleman who placed the EA in other forum.
Please, our expert coders have a look into it. Probably you could convert it to a promising EA.

This well known FLEX EA is good on BT but perform bad on FT and requires to obtain an account code to trade live too, google it, you can forget about it
