on 233T - NSH
1597 - Price completed a harmonic in the long term. Expectation is a deep and complex correction

Anyone see anything differently let me know

Don't worry about your English. As long as you can trade, that is the language that we are all trying to master. Not to mention that there really isn't such a thing as mother language in true linguistics.

Did I decide to become a teacher? Well that is a long story. ha ha ha.. My major is international relations in business. We have to study foreign language for this major and I also studied linguistics.
Only Mr. Pip can speak for himself about why he wants to teach us. I believe it is because he has a kind heart and wants to protect us that are interested in learning from being deceived by those that would take advantage of our lack of skill in trading.
I think that you are a good person and what you do is very inspiring.
I noticed that when you came to this thread, that you asked a lot of questions and many people have helped you in your journey by answering your questions with straight forward answers and no reverse psychology rhetoric.
Although the purpose of my post wasn't to single anyone out. I am glad that those that read it, like yourself, can see how I think to some extent.

And brother.. I hear you about the stress. I also, live in a time zone, where the trading hours aren't the most ideal.
And about your wife... which I am impressed when someone shares their personal life on the thread... well .. I can tell that you are a great man, and as you become more successful at this, your sacrifice will be well worth it.

Anyways... sorry if I bothered anyone with my comments... and I am excited to focus on trading with everyone..
So, I look forward to your inspirational post, evocrpr19.

On a serious note.. +46 points today..

Notes:
-Poor R:R - 1:1 (probably hindered due to tight trail ...looking at it now in hindsight)
-Technically not trading the right swing which would be the magenta line because that's the swing that produced a NSH in the intermediate OF
-structure was great and I was expecting a shallow to mid correction on the immediate OF

There was a possible entry at the candle above my magenta arrow with very good R:R but i don't usually enter on 100% corrections.

Now I know I said I want a more mechanical way to trade so I would put a limit order on every expectation at the 50% fib level but I've been thinking a lot ..my personal life is a shithole at the moment and I really want to make a change so I binge watched Damian's videos for I don't know which time and I came to the conclusion that I didn't know what a proper rotation is and I also wasn't patient enough with the depth of the expected correction. What I mean by the last thing is that when I was expecting a deep correction but a rotation was produced earlier I would take it..so what happened was that I was increasing my stop loss and hurting my R:R.

After watching Damian's videos i realized the power of a PROPER rotation IN THE PROPER PLACE (structure and expected depth of correction).

Btw..I don't know if anyone reads the crap I write but I hope it makes sense.

Very important lesson in here that I hadn't quite learned yet either. You can't just enter at a 61.8 or whatever

You can do it and you would most likely be successful ..I've done it in backtesting and it's certainly profitable but in live market conditions and in complex corrections it's very difficult to not let your knowledge of reading PA interfere with the process.

I think that raises another good point is the complex corrections. It was easy for me to get lost seeing a series of higher highs, but not breaking the high of the main swing. This means my expectation shouldn't be a NSH. Trap I've found my self in several times. Its all actually really simple, but hard at the same time.

Basically, f the expectation is wrong, the pullback to the 61.8 is wrong.

is the rotation basically an englufing pattern?

My 2 cents, a rotation on a tick chart can be a pinbar, an engulfing candle, or the 2 bar pattern. Because a tick chart is a tick chart, everyone's tick candles will look differently, since your candle creation will begin at a different time than everyone else. Keep in mind that when looking at say (a 233T) historical candle, you have no idea what happened within those 233 ticks, except the open,low,high,close. The ticks could've ranged in between the high/low 3 times before the candle closed. Now when it closes it can look like an engulfing candle/pinbar/etc, but do I really want to buy on a rotation with such indecision within those 233 ticks? Maybe. Now watching these 233 ticks happen in realtime you can certainly know what happened during the formation of that candle.

For a while I attempted to watch a 1T - 5T chart to help me understand what actually happened during my so called rotation candle.
2 takeaways from that exercise:
#1 - It did not help me choose better rotation candles.
#2 - I was very impressed at how much the 5T chart respected its own structure, perhaps respecting its own structure more than larger tick swings respect their structure.

Ended week with -23 points.
While others are raking in hundreds of points, I'm genuinely happy with my smaller loss than last week.


Seriously, I'm happy because I'm learning every week.

Gonna enjoy a relaxing weekend.

I had a rough week - Lost 274 points total (-267 on Tuesday, complete loss of focus and plan). Thursday and Friday were positive and last week was +179
Over 2 weeks -95.
I learned a lot this week about myself and my tendencies (both good and bad). That growth will be worth more than 100 points in the long run - IF I learn to control my tendencies and trade 'in the zone'.

Thanks all for a meaningful forum and don't give up if you have a tough stretch.
