There is that hedging function bgntrs mentioned, then we had the idea of birpinar with the pip distance to moving averages (58) and the suggestion of petewong to incooperate a custom indicator into another EA... I think I have also read something about renko bars.
Does someone know what else is missing... / I think we should always concentrate on the two main EAs we have in this thread and improve them/ or select 1

We should sum it up clear so that none of the coders has to read through last 5-10 pages...
Btw: Is any of the coders still here?!

ZackAZAAL, I do fully agree with you. With some luck it is very easy even with default settings to make some money in short term on these EAs, but I think we want to be successfull in the long run...right?
For instance, I got 4k in two weeks demo, but lost them all this night just on one pair AUDNZD (even not considered as a volatile one) on its drop without sufficient retracement... using a lot multiplier of 2 on M15 TF/ no hedge. I was testing 12 pairs, the other 11 pairs made 0,3k profit on that day but what possible use is that!?
Actually, I'm not a friend of hedging but in the meanwhile I believe that without it those sort of EAs are not going to be profitable in the middle/long run if at all. Also regular money withdrawing should not really help because of the time problem.
I know Rodolfo has already created a hedge function but to be honest I don't know how it works and how to setup and I don't remember anybody is using it successful.
BTW, the Hedging Plan of bgntrs looks very interesting to me and deserves further testing if coded...many thanks already in advance to the coder...!

By the way i don`t think you can found a settings what would survive all times.
I think you should increase your pips by news ore maybe better to shut it down and come back later again.
When you let the ea run and you don`t do nothing at all you`ll will be blown out ( I think )

Thanks for sharing the idea. I'm looking for the hedging for martingale for very long times and very interested in your idea.
But after reading your idea many times, I still cannot imagine what would be the result at the end of hedging. My stupid....
So, please let me ask the question. With this kind of hedging, if it's very strong downtrend (say another 200-300 pips) away from last position before hedging starts and we need to continue opening BUY trade with bigger lot size until not enough money to open trade anymore, then what we can do is waiting for the reversal or account wipe out from margin call, right?

thanks for updating Page 1...!

I especially like your proposal to switch to higher timeframes, f. i. M15>M30,H1 when in big DD given one trade per candle is activated (true in settings). Do you have tested this whether the EAv3.4 or v2.2 does recognize and manage that timeframe switching accordingly and does open a new trade only on a new candle? Or is it just an idea from you?

I think that just means that when everyone of us pays a small amout of $ rodolfolm will have it easier to concentrate on the EA, without hiding the mql4 (and therefore won't sell it)

This was my losing AN trade from this night (other PC), very likely a hedging mode or just timeframe switching would have helped to survive (Max. lot was 5 thus no margin issue):

If you're using conservative lot exponent, you can survive EVEN without hedging. For example 1.1 lot exponent, you can survive most moves, even 300 pips. So long you start with balance of about 5k

The hedge system is to reduce the DD to allow us to sleep more comfortable. The system is there to make the distance to recovery easier.
