DislikedI started Demo trading YM on Ninja Trader last week on Friday and Im just liking it. Ive been trading Forex for the last two years and I must say it has been tough.....YM seems manageable. Today i took 11 trades.. 6 Wins 5 Losses.. Overall green. Can't wait to learn more then go live in futures. Now, my limitation is that my current broker does not have Ninja Trader platform, I'm demo trading on FXCM, any reviews on FXCM....I also saw guys here talking about Dorman trading....any reviews on them? Also, how much does one need to have in the account...Ignored

Disliked{quote} Hello, I can tell you about Dorman Trading. I opened an account with 4K. Since it was an international deposit (I live in Colombia), they charged me 32 USD at the deposit time. I havenīt bought the platform yet, so expenses per trade are a little higher (4.8 USD per round trade per lot. Les than a PIP). Also have 7 USD charge monthly for data feed. You have the choice to Lease or Buy the platform that let you have on chart trading. Otherwise you can only trade with another option much lower friendly. Now I am Demo trading, and plan to do...Ignored
Disliked{quote} Hi mukai, I'll give my two cents here. I started trading YM at the beginning of the year. Had no significant experience previously, a little bit of forex but I bought the NinjaTrader software and jumped into YM with $2k. I demo traded for a few weeks and went live and found some initial success. In hindsight it was a LOT of luck. Volatility has been crazy the last two or three weeks and I gave back all my gains. Back in black now but I was trading scared because I knew just a few more losers would have me too near a margin call for my comfort....Ignored
DislikedFirst day with a futures account today !Can anyone explain what the correct setting is for "Price based on:" in Ninjatrader Data Series Properties? I can choose between Bid, Ask or Last. If I choose "Last", it looks like less candles are being printed than when I choose "Bid" or "Ask". Which one do you guys use? What is the best setting? What does it mean? May be a stupid question. I think somebody already pointed out to me once that my setting was wrong, but I can't seem to find that post. Thanks for any help

Disliked{quote} i think last is refer to closed price, so setting is last.Ignored
Disliked{quote} Not sure if I understand.. So why is there a different number of candles between a "89 tick - Bid" chart and a "89 tick - Last" chart?Ignored

Disliked{quote} Haven't actually googled this but my thought is that in the bid/ask tick chart it probably takes into account only the buy or sell orders and when it's last than it takes into account both. Can't open NT at the moment but I'll have a look at this prior to today's open.Ignored
Disliked{quote} You can have several bids without a final trade , so normally bidprice is on the charts.Ignored
Disliked{quote} You mean "Bid" setting will only generate a tick when there's a sell order? (Maybe I misunderstood) But if that was the case I would expect the "Bid" setting to produce less candles than the "Last" setting. But "Bid" shows many more candles than "Last" on a 89 tick chart for example.Ignored
Disliked{quote} Sorry I do not understand. (Please understand that I do not know much about bid/ask, orderbook etc..) Can you explain further?Ignored
