I think you have hit the nail on the head. Yes, you lot are fat and eat too much but then so are we, so why are your rates of these diseases way higher? You are being damaged by GM and chemicals.

If the EU was only about food standards then I would have certainly voted remain. I dread to think what food shit we would be getting post Brexit. But then as legally everything has to be clearly labelled, we do have a choice. It will be the already fat and unhealthy ones getting fatter and more unhealthy.

Obama's Affordable Care Act was a socialist hoax. It wasn't even affordable cause rate went up 50-100% in some states every year. If you want to know the truth, America always had a safety net. It's called MedicAid. I knew people who were at the poverty level and yet they had first class medical service via MedicAid. That was a fact.
While we, the working stiffs, who earned enough to be considered middle class would have to pay mothly fees to private companies for basically catastrofic coverage. We also had to keep the deductable high for lower monthly premiums. Also Doctors choice was limited to the ones who signed on to participate.
So, socialist rules for the poor and capitalistic rules for the rest. When you have socialism or communism style for all then tell me who is going to pay for it all?

How about stopping interfering in other countries' problems and spending that money at home? Get rid of the dead wood too, no need to raise taxes.

Anyhow, not up to me to say, not being a yank, likewise not diplomatic of Trump to criticise us.

Trump did campaign to stop interfering with other countries to MAGA. I'm still waiting on that one.

We don't have an underfunded and broken NHS. We have a population problem. It is the open door policy of the last Labour government. It is being used as the International Health Service as well.

Like I explained above in my first post today, in the US we have an amalgamation of socailistic and capitalistic rules. So if you like it the way it is in the UK, then make it work for you.

I don't like the sound of Socialism for the poor (or lazy) and Capitalism for the ones who can afford it. It has to be the same for all. Like a flat rate of tax for all. We all pay the same for goods, eat more pay more but it is proportional, so earn more and you naturally pay more tax anyway. Now that would be a fairer society.

We have very good private healthcare too but the NHS is free at the point of service for all. It's not perfect, but considering the numbers it has to cope with, it does amazingly well. You hear of the ones who were failed and given the huge numbers, of course that is going to happen with such an overstretched service, but you don't hear of all the lives it has saved and happy stories.

Nothing really here can keep up with the population growth. It isn't just the NHS: roads, schools, housing; none of the services can keep pace. We have let in far too many who are also then prolifically breeding. You know what I am talking about.

Socialism is in effect government being creative inn some cases and in other cases tyrannical to take from those who have and give to those who don't have. This keeps the ruling class in power. Socialism and anything similar to socialism has always been a failed paradigm that leads to wealth disparity with a decreasing middle class an increasing upper class (usually consisting of government officials and their cronies) and an increasing under class consisting of real poor and those who become dependent because they actually are ok with living at a subsistence level. As the poor population increases the tax base decreases and the governing body must resort to more clever ways to fund those dependent on programs whether they be for health care, nutrition, housing etc. Socialism in essence and over time creates poverty.

Capitalism by its very nature is competitive. It relies on the entrepreneurial ingenuity of individuals to do something better than somebody else and to get paid for doing it. In business this results in the creation of real jobs and people who obtain a real income. If the overall economical environment promotes capitalism and minimizes socialistic programs then the tax base will increase allowing the funding of reasonable programs for the truly needy. Sure capitalism has it's dark side in corporations becoming so powerful that they create products in ways that can harm the public. This can occur through environmentally irresponsible production or economically irresponsibility and other publicly irresponsible behaviors. The pendulum swings back and forth as government may impose harsh restrictions on business or perhaps be to lax on business. Overall the economic environment should promote the creation of jobs by business. Not fake jobs by government except perhaps in the interest of national defense.

Capitalism can be responsibly controlled to promote entrepreneuralship that can actually address most ills of society including health care, housing and the truly needy. Trump has begun this through his policies. Look at Amazon who is already looking at ways to deal with healthcare. The health insurance companies are deathly afraid of private enterprise coming up with solutions for health care as they are largely controlled by government. Allow capitalists and the entrepreneurs to be free to create and I believe many things can improve. Free-thinking people who are not stifled by over-regulation or worse tyranny or dictatorial regimes will come up with solutions.

In the US anyone can obtain "health-care" which is often substituted for "sick-care" Despite the ravages of Obamacare anyone with a real problem can walk into an emergency room and they will be taken care of. It is illegal in the US to refuse medical care to someone who needs it especially if it is a life threatening condition. Most ERs will not turn you away for fear of litigation. It is true in the US that if you don't have healthcare insurance then you may have difficulty obtaining treatment for a nonlifethreatening condition if you are unable to pay out-of-pocket for it.

When Obama care was instituted millions lost their healthcare insurance. while they were waiting to get Obamacare they were prevented from receiving life-saving treatments they were previously obtaining. Many died as they could no longer pay for their cancer treatments and other treatments.

The individual mandate was repealed in Trump's tax plan which eliminated the requirement that every individual must have healthcare insurance or pay a penalty. Many previously elected to pay the penalty because they could not afford the premiums nor could they afford the enormous deductibles. The deductibles were really just another tax as many could not even afford the deductibles. The deductibles themselves were a barrier to low-income individuals or families obtaining healthcare.

What I am understanding is you have a 2 tier health system with Obamacare, which is like the NHS but just for the poor? Am I right? I would argue that that is actually more Socialist and create more resentment than what we have which is a free for all, like education and other services, regardless of what you earn. I understood Trump may have tweeted after seeing Nigel talk about the NHS on Fox and Friends. Nigel is right up to a point. It is a population problem, but there is more to it. We have a lot of illegals here unaccounted for, but they are free to use the NHS. Our "official" population is 66m, but in reality maybe another 10m more. When Grenfell burnt down, they had no idea on the number of dead and that is because those flats (paid for out of housing benefits) were sub-let to house hundreds of illegals. There are many hundreds if not thousands of those tower blocks. Whilst asylum applications are processed here, they are free to roam and no guesses what happens. You just need to see the numbers of rejected asylum applications and the number they actually deport. The disparity is huge!

Biometric ID cards would be a good way forward, so would turning the country into a cashless society. To access any services and even to purchase anything you need to be known. No black market; can't be paid cash in hand. I also believe that any new arrivals within the last 5 years have to be made to publicly pledge allegiance to Queen and country, above all else, including their religion. There. If they can't they're out, back to the last place they came from. We should also have the same ban on the Muslim countries that the US has.

Health tourism has to stop and that includes Hillary, when she supposedly broke her ankle running down the stairs backwards in high heels, carrying a cup of boiling hot coffee, just before a more hard hitting interview. NHS should only be for British citizens.

As for the NHS itself, 50% of staff are not clinically qualified. Most of the paper shufflers and layers of management need to go. There is a lot of waste that can be dealt with. There are a lot of suppliers screwing the NHS. They need to be sorted. 1/3 of the NHS budget is spent on treating the obese and conditions related to obesity. Something needs to be done about that.

The narrative of Russian collusion with Trump was paid for by the Clinton campaign to smear Trump. That particular info was hidden until now with the release of the FISA memo. On a side note, congressman Adam Schiff (D) was against releasing the memo because it reveals how low the DNC and the Obama administration would go. He also is a relative to a major contributor to the Clintons. It's a family affair.

Every health insurance plan must be approved and meet Obamacare minimum standards. The law WAS that everyone must have health insurance. So yes this was a socialistic plan.

I have! Good stuff! I been in the Yen pairs as safe haven bids will see some action. I am suspecting the market is anticipating inflation and increased rates from the FEDS. They hate the market and so a correction is in order!
