Hard to say. I'm going with the fact that the bulls crashed through the (now invalidated) daily downtrend like it was crepe paper and the bears couldn't get twenty pips toward a retest. I'm actually shocked we made it this far down... I could be wrong though, happens all the time.

Looking at that spike, it smacked through that 1.182-1.184 area like nothing, meaning demand there is not that strong, so I feel like it should test something lower like 1.8

On the other hand it could be some big boys taking profits for the year, after the US session ended?

I see it a little differently. It stopped dead in it's tracks at 1820, then took a lively bounce to current levels. Must be some kind of demand there at 1820. Not to say it's not going to go lower, just that it has some support to overcome. I don't think we'll see it lower than 1830 again. But i'm a little biased at this point because i'm long

Dont' forget that at year end some some of the institutional investors are cashing out at the very end. That might trigger this pair to get south as well. im on the short side, targeting 1.18 for now.
Whatever is happening right now has happened before and will happen again.

In two hours it hasn't moved more than two pips in the original direction. Even the consolidation is failing lol. The retest won't break 1830.

Can anyone tell me why the USD tanked after a hike? Isn't the opposite supposed to happen? Sure they have not been hitting their 2% target but the GDP growth is solid and feel trying to use inflation in isolation as a gauge of economic health. Why the huge sell off? I'm really confused

my target on long eu met and much more . we are in consolidation but any dip needs to bought based on HI chart and h 4 chart shows 1.96. oil is going up and eu can move up

I didn't really think it will do anything until Europe open, but I'm holding one of my shorts still, also targeting 1.8, but I will close sooner depending on price action.

good thinking Pipfu, you have already some pips in you pocket! thank you for your perspective. if nothing change I will look for some opportunity to short soon, but you can be right that the support is very strong at 1.1830 so it will be my TP.

Buy limit set at 1.8295. I dont think we will make the bottom of the spike. stop under the spike a few pips.
