It looks very much like the participation has dried up almost completely in this thread.

There are several thread offshoots from this one (including a few of my own) which have attempted to trade their own variation.

Quite an extensive persuit in coding an MT4 EA by several thread participants.

Results that I have seen are very mixed from very poor to above average but usually only over the shorter time horizons.

In short this method survives on the most part by having very deep pockets, trading very small lot sizes and syphoning off DD in a timely manner.

In one of my threads I have attempted to trade a small US$1000 live account using a cent type account (so that I can apply really small lot sizing ratios) and a number of standard type accounts from various brokers but the DD issues persist.

More 1K live attempts are in the pipeline, with an intermediate target of 10K (doubling a live account has not yet happened, on a demo ... yes!).

Its a fascinating persuit and rather challenging.

I hope others will continue the Quantum approach either trading manually or via an Expert Advisor or using a combination of both.

I use an EA as an assistant to place multiple trades in Quantum cycles and then I personally manage the trades.

Do not use funds that you cannot afford to lose as this method is and likely always will be .... Risky !!

just for your information.
I started at 08.10.2016 with a demo account (10K) and EURUSD only to check the DD - is 10K enough to survive EURUSD?

EA only - no manual interventions.
I am using "Quantum London Trading EA v1.6.1" with a very smal bug fix :-)

just for your information.

Second "quantum" account started at 28.08.2015 with four currencies - long term :-)
EA only - no manual interventions.
Also using "Quantum London Trading EA v1.6.1" with a very smal bug fix :-)

Many traders have tested numerous amounts of data using that EA or variations of it.

On a demo account results can look quite good but given enough time either historically or indeed into the future there will come a time where DD will reign supreme.

Cycles of trades using Quantum and relatively small lot sizing in the Asian session with turtle pairs on a 10K to 50K live account is very effective.

My goal with Quantum trading was to show how to start from only a small US$1000 live account how to grow the account into 10K ... this target has not yet been hit.

The smaller the account size the more difficult since a long term strong trending market with the smallest of pullbacks will drive the small account quickly into potentially dangerous available margin issues.

Escaping one of those account ending events is critical but the problem is that no one knows when the next one will be.

So a sensible plan is to put a limit on the floating DD.

But what limit shall we place ?

I have seen Quantum cycles pull out of greater than 50%DD levels and beyond but once you allow an account to run this deep in floating loss its more or less hope that digs you out not necessarily smart trading.

Oddly enough from the data I tested and believe me I tested plenty, a DD limit of 55% could almost survive any cycle.

However, this figure of 55 does not mean much without the settings and the period of data being used for the test.

Nevertheless, its not a sensible limit to be using if trading real money.

I really would like to see a live account go from 1K to 10K.

Maybe one day it will happen.

Unfortunately, this decision is a tactic, a is needed strategy. With a long trend in one direction, divergences of the RSIs are not saved from a large decline in the deposit or its loss. Now is the time. A lot of grid-traders with aggressive trade settings received losses.

Hi Sir, what you aim is from 1k to 10k.. what if we do withdrawal and start again from 1k when the account hit 3k or 5k?
The account will burst in the extreme situation, which assume happen once or twice in a year?
what's your thought?

The biggest issue is avoiding the moment in the market when price keeps trending against you.

The problem is that no one knows when this will occur but it will happen.

The idea of making withdrawals after 1K doubles to 2K etc is a great idea.

However, my attempt is focussed on a 1K start and hitting 10K then from 10K to 100K then ultimately 1 million without any withdrawals.

Quantum would be traded through all 3 equity building phases but from 10K a session focus.

On a demo account from 1K Ive hit a high of 300 to 400% before a pullback in the equity curve to much lower levels.

On a live account after several attempts on a cent account, standard account, ecn account results have been far lower and no where near the first goal.

One approach could be based on good fortune and hoping the large trend is somehow missed.

Or cutting trades when DD starts to get too big.

Many other methods can be applied as long as at least the first goal of 10k is hit.

An approach I had was to trade in the Asian session with turtle pairs and benefit from the typical reversals in PA back to the Daily Open price line but then of course a nasty trend turns up and equity reverses somewhat.

I hope to hit the goal one day or at least witness another trader achieve this goal on a live 1K account however it is a rather big challenge and very difficult.

Perhaps you will have a go but try a demo first to see the dangers unfold.

Then go live if you wish there is a manual approach and an EA or several EAs in this thread you may wish to use.

Your idea has merit but for that purpose you should be using the QLT version of Quantum.

The Quantum EA is safer but at the same time its not going to make you rich overnight.
If traded safely, the quantum will not provide you with sufficient income to even double your account in 1 year.
Also, if you trade multiple pairs on 1 account and you don't carefully select the currency pair and the trading direction,
an extreme event can happen more often than you'd expect.

I trade the quantum EA only on a few pairs and only in 1 direction,
The direction gives me some advantages which will allow for easier recovery.
When you study the charts, you will see which pairs are less likely to catch you out.
The possibility of being caught in a very long run when a pair is already at extreme levels is less likely.

For example, since August last year, I have been trading the EURGBP in short direction only.
The short direction also gives +ve swap and this will make it easier for you to recover your trades.

I like this kind of strategy , the only problem is that i don't know how will it survive in an extreme strong trend.

I spent a lot of my time developing this strategy. But the situation when the Advisor opens the warrants against a strong trend happen regularly.
There is no insurance, because EA is looking for a turn based on Quantum signals, and Quantum can be wrong.
For myself, I found a simple solution: to work in the direction of the trend and not to look for reversal signals.

But which trend do you use? the daily? the 4H? or the 1H?
Also, the trend one day will reverse and you will be trading against it.

Glad to see you, Bill!
I trade on m1 or m5, in the direction of the trend of H1. But first, I mark the tendencies on the senior TF. For the layout I use Fibo. I select areas of support and resistance. After that, I add a couple of indicators to the chart and you can trade. I enter pending orders in the direction of the main trend for H1.
On the screen, the deals are not mine, but they give an idea of the trading method (tf m15).
