The influx indicator used by CP is not an ordinary MACD.

Below you can see a MACD with the specs you mentioned (please note it's a 5-sec chart so MACD values are set to 12,720). Entry levels are +0.005 for long and -0.005 for sell.

As you can see from CP's charts above, his indicator is actually different; it is not a simple MACD line because it goes into negative territory right when price tend to stall (a normal MACD would just have its line a bit flat when price stalls for a period of time). CP indicator seems more like a momentum/MACD/oscillator combination of some kind.

Can you explain to us what it means and how does it traslate into a practical advantage in scalping the cable?

From what some here are saying, CP is able to scalp with only 2 pips SL consistently. To believe this, I need to see it with my eyes; because I know damn well it would be near impossible to have such accurate entries day in and day out to allow for 2 pips as stop, just with naked charting. What I could easily believe, is that he's really good at reading the movements, but he also possess a some kind of fool-proof, super tailored indicator that helps in select only the best opportunities in the market.

If a simple quote by newton is something you call useless then I don't know what else to explain. Forget about CP's SL of 2 because i am pretty sure he uses a maximum of 10 pip SL from his old posts. He can as well use a SL of 2 without getting hit most of the time which is 100% possible. A simple indicator that detects momentum such as macd will do the same but do you have a proven system to apply any indicator. I gave you a quote that could change your entire trading system. Have you ever asked yourself why we have 4 different trading sessions in any trading environment and how each should begin? Guess you are trying to hard to figure out CP's indicator but I can assure you it is an endless journey.

Mathematics: "2x3=6" , "3x2=6"
Market: "2x3=6", 3x2=5"

The order of analysis is fundamental, get the order incorrect and throwing darts at a wall becomes an alternative.
I just keep getting the impression that this thread has become a chase for the perfect entry, yet as CP has said many a time ***Master The Basics***.

CP even said it a long time ago indirectly: "When i trade i only focus on entry and exit, nothing else". (something to that effect).
But(!) to get to this point, there is a process to be followed.

Without this its pointless trying to improve or make more efficient something which has not been mastered.
How can you build a more sophisticated indicator without understanding its true purpose within the bigger picture?
How can you simplify and balance consistency with efficiency when you dont know the correct order of analysis?

You know why he is probably laughing at this? Because in order to get to this stage you have to build it yourself, by first Mastering The Basics.
Only then can you identify weakspots to rectify by applying your very own critical thinking.
And eventually apply a form of reductionism. Then when you show people, it becomes like alien tech

I don't know HOW to articulate this stuff. It's not in the "what we see on chart" but it is in the "HOW price moves"... the movement of price itself via oscilation and vascilation, breakout and bounce, explosion and contraction.... in cycles within cycles within cycles that CAN be quantified and gained as an edge.

When there is this so called 'delay' in the shifts of cycles. I cannot explain the WHY yet but there are still a unique "signature sequence or behavour sequence" or a unique 'personality' of price movements that happen ALL the time in a universal form from higher timeframes that get crystalized into lower timeframes M1 or M5. Most if not all of my H1 and higher setups results in OB or OS or Equilibrium (SRFlip) on M1. I just cannot understand why this happens but it is happening.

EDIT: This might appear as if I have discovered something. Believe me, I have not!. The direction is the key and if I get wrong, I get in big trouble like in this post. It would be advantageous to just look at the signal and then manually trade it based on what I see on charts... but I am not going back to starring charts... ever. I hate it. It messes up my discipline and patience.

Come to think of it. if banks, institutions and the so called big players move the market, then who is losing because am pretty sure retail trader's money is peanut to this set of market players. There is an external force that moves the market up and down and not the so called orders.

Don't predict where the market will go. Just move with its flow. You can only stare at charts to get a brighter view of how newtonian law applies to the charts. If you are willing to work it out, you will get it.

I was always talking about the influx indicator coded by zznbrm (I don't know about CP's). Again... It is a MACD (non lag MACD based on the works of Ehlers?)but the moving averages to compare are applied to seconds which make it "non lagable". +0.005 designates the distance between the close (the now) and the open (x seconds ago: determined by your choice of point of reference): when the distance goes above that you know You are not in the presence of a fakeout...

In your chart the values measured by your MA's and your MACD are different: try on a 1 second chart with the same values for MA's and MACD...

Here it is, a 1 sec chart with a MACD (60,3600). Does it look like CP indicator to you?

Is this the indicator you're talking about? This one seems the one CP is using.

Anyhow I coudn't find it for NinjaTrader or MT4/5 or Oanda's platform, it seems it's only available on FXCM's TradeStation. Am I correct?

No I don't take it personal. I got caught into this thread because I got intrigued by CP's indicator, which appeared interesting to me.

With your reference to "Mastering The Basics" (written like that it seem the title of an upcoming movie, lol) I think you might be referring to all the small analysis we should be doing before putting ourselves into the position of opening a trade. Filtering the most profitable situations, I suppose. Were you referring to an analysis of the trend on higher timeframe? Or a pre-selection of probable turning points on charts? Or perhaps taking a look at the development of the daily, hourly candles while you trade and try to capitalize on the fractal nature of price movements? If I tell you what is my process, will you tell me yours?

You see, the main problem here with these discussion is that no one here is willing to be clear. In CP posts I read everything and the exact same opposite; and while I deeply know many topics in trading can be valid and invalid at the same time depending on the details and application, I find it frustrating that someone is willing to put down vague clues without being more specific on the crucial parts. I don't pretend that someone would be willing to give away his secrets in details, but I'd also like to have a clear discussion on this topic, so that I can, in return, put down my observations of my trading.

Otherwise it all leads to people competing for who's the one that can be the most cryptic without actually sounding idiotic.

I don't know about that since I only use zznbrm's influx indicator... but as you can see doesn't differ much...

I only studied the indicator and associated concept, don't know anything else...
Remarkable work from zznbrm and CP's idea, for getting to this concept of reference point and apply an indicator to it, is WONDERFUL. But then again the indicator does not make the system. I don't know about it, don't use it, although I'm trying to use the indicator to fit my system (I apply Bollinger on it .... still in testing...)
