It sounds like you are saying you should only be in a full position if it is always in profit. If it is not, start to get out of the market. While I agree in cutting losses short, entries need not be so perfectly timed so that the market does not move any pips against you. And again, if you are going to start exiting when the market moves against you, why would you not exit the entire position? After all, if it turns out you are right on direction, but wrong on timing, you can always get back into the Market. That's why one should pursue a method robust enough to offer multiple entries into a trend, rather than one that tries to time a single entry "to the pip".

In all seriousness this thread could be one of the best learning threads on FF if people could keep it on topic. If I was hosting this thread I would be deleting any posts that weren't:

1) Showing a losing trade
2) Anaylzing the losing trade
3) or other users provide their analysis of someone else's chart, technically, with the information given on the current chart!

squawk said EU and GB finally had a deal, i buy right away. the pice goes my way for about 6~7 pip then crash 40 pip the other direction in few seconds for no reason, i still don't know what happened.


same thing happened few hours later on UJ while i was trading the NFP, price goes down, i get in, get few pips then the price shoots up for no apparent reason!

Loss of the week. 20pips sl(+spread) and 60pips tp preset at entry. Lesson : don't place trades past bedtime, not willing to wait got whacked by a bad entry.

You bought into institutional sell orders....helped them get their sell orders filled. Always watch out for important level

You bought at resistance, and the news wasn't enough to push through. I've found is a good idea to look at the next higher time frame or two and know which way it's trending. Look at your trade on the15mchart.Downtrend.

I think you have something going for you here MZ. My feeling is... USD and JPY pairs demonstrate extremity behavior in my setups (i.e. HTF signal end up at OB/OS levels) and Crosses demonstrate balance behavior i.e. HTF signal end up at S/R Flip levels. I also think it is related to the fact the 99% of most trading strategies have a very tiny edge ranging from 49% - 52% win/loss rate. The 1% of winning strategies are somehow able to tilt this edge in their favor via means other that price action. I am trying to quantify this stuff but it is extremely time consuming and complex. My excel is burning the 8-core CPUs with calculations that take over 15 mins to every filter I apply LOL

Mr Yen you are chasing the market. You can't catch every single move. Pick a direction, and look for a bargain entry. Think of it this way: you are in the market for some currency. You can buy it any time you want, but it's best to wait for it to go on sale. Be cheap and stingy.

The allure of price pimp'ng will continue for dreamers until it is approached in a quantified manner to gain such deep level of understanding. Looking at historical charts looks soo easy but in the long run VERY few will come out alive and unscratched.

With the pound this is called buy the rumour sell the fact.

With UJ - there was a miss on wages inflation-estimates had been higher that previous
Plus there was a move from Trump's Tax reform program- going into the event.

Howler i made last week.

Buy on the DAX, silly me decided it had gone up enough and was going to reverse... closed on the first entry test, as soon as I closed it, it ran all the way to my TP.

I made this 'beautiful' loss almost 30 pips, when I was scalping GU M5 this morning...

Analysis:
a. I think I got in late.
b. Over trusted my system (what else can I do since it's my trading tool )

Resolutions:
a. Avoid late entries
b. Continue to believe in my system and make room for periodical flops...
