Here's an interesting one for flat earthers, this time to do with roads and how they are built in some cases..

Some roads that happen to be very long have to be made with kinks in them otherwise the translation of 2d road planning onto a 3d shape would result in inaccurate maps. More here:

I'm thinking that admission will never come. Even if he does not think it is flat he will never admit it just out of spite.

{quote} So if you decide that the video does in fact prove that the gyroscopes on aeroplanes have to adjust for curvature, how is that one swallow not enough to prove that there is curvature and the earth is spherical?
Ignored
OK Rambo I have watched. So you and anybody else genuinely think that video proves anything at all other than how a gyro operates ?

What you consider to be adjustment for curvature is in fact normal operation. It was added to the earlier designs to try and compensate for sudden roll/pitch etc so wit does nothing other than return the gyro to it's natural position ie: rigid in space
Which is the whole purpose of the gyro. Think about what it does. It assists in maintaining a level attitude.

The "Pilot" in your vid should know that it can't be caged and should not be caged while in roll or pitch. The whole purpose for pre-flight caging is to set horizon parallel to the reference surface and maintain that. Ie the location of takeoff.

Will address couple other things soon, have to pop back out. Later.....

Hey, if they can go back and forth with this I can put in my 2 cents. Even if it is only to antagonize.

They are going to go back and forth until one of them capitulates. Which one do you think that is? Rambo? His handle gives us a clue. And Stu is old, therefore stubborn. This could on for a long, long, long time.
It's all in your head.

I don't think this will ever end. So once every few weeks I will say how old and moldy it is and move on.

Fair enough, the mechanism is made to deal with all types of forces acting on it, not just curvature... It was my error to think that this could prove curvature when there are other uses for the mechanism.

Wait, excuse me we are in the RH, no need to be politically correct, since I was the one who use the word Nazi....

I thought I would open up a can worms....it's just a video from a tv show.
