I think that different approaches work for different people. Just because scalping or swing tradings works for one person it doesn't mean the same for the next person. What works for whom is a highly subjective issue - it depends on their personality, their experience, the conditions in which they trade, etc.etc.

Scalpers are fast and don't adhere to any pattern, they might be short in one exchange and after that go long in the following; little open doors are what they target. Scalpers normally tend to work around the bid-ask spread i.e. purchasing on the bid and offering at ask, subsequently making the spread their benefit. Swing exchanges stay open from few days to a long time to even months, however ordinarily most recent couple of days. Regarding time frame, persistence required and potential returns, swing trading falls between day trading and pattern trading.

I will be quite depends on the transaction cost. Scalping only take little profit each trade, let's say 10 pips, if the transaction cost is 1 pip, it's 10% of profit. For swing trade, most likely it's around 30 - 100 pips range, 1 pips cost is only 2% of the profit, that makes the winning chance higher.
Some people good at scalping definitely need a good broker to support them, however swing trading should work on most brokers.

There are many strategies but you need to have a proper amount of knowledge and experience and skills to learn about those strategies to become successful in Forex Trading.

I have done both. I started as a scalp trader and graduated to a swing trader.

I think scalping limited my profit potential because I exited too soon and then was out until the next signal. I often lost track of the market direction. It was more intense trading, requiring more screen time and decision-making. It became exhausting from watching and waiting and frustrating from not taking more pips.

Swing trading is easier and more profitable for me.

The major skill I have developed from using both styles is the ability to catch the best part of a swing, or what I call the sweet spot. I can only make money when the market moves vertically in my favor. Swing trading shows me the direction. Scalping shows me the profit zone. Best of both worlds.

Scalp or Swing trade, it does not matter. What matters to me is what I earned at the end of the day.

Swing trading is more effective, objectively. You just need to be more patient, that's all.

I will say both are profitable if you know how to do it. You need knowledge and skills for trading. You have to find out which one suits you the most. Every person is different. If I am good at scalping, I may be not good at swing trading. You have to find your own edge by trail and error.

Swing trading is my choice. Only with swing trading do you have enough time to analyze and make decisions without being caught up in constant trading.

Normal Swing trader = less Trade p/d and p/m = gain profit
Normal Scalp Trader = More Trade p/d and p/m = gain profit and loss p/trades (Gain Profit based on mental mastery)
Good Scalp Trader (with Patient skill and proper systems) = great Trades p/d and p/m = Just gain profit
Notice : A Trader is someone who has the Money management and Technical and psychological System's with at least +3 Years Experience .

Based on my experience, scalping demands relentless focus and fast execution, but offers quick rewards—whereas swing trading suits those of us balancing full-time jobs, giving us more breathing room and less screen time

Honestly, I haven't met a good scalper that could make as much money as a good swing trader. Scalping gives you quick small profits and small losses. Swing and position trading give you good momentum for big profits and small losses. Pro traders have both in their portfolios.
