1. Loading cot data takes more than 5 minutes....
Can i optimize parameters to reduce loading time?

2. I ran 8 cot indicators on 4 different windows simultaneously.
Then mt4 does not boot up at all. It shut down.
I tried turn on and off my pc repeatedly, but it doesn't work.
I may need to delete cot folders, then reinstall.....

3. How can i compare indicator values with COT report?
For CAD for Oct. 10.
when i open Futures-and-Options -Combined (Long format) file,
Value of open interest on indicator is the same with the report. (198,583)
But other values are quite different. Both COTdata and COTdataIndex don't have the same figures with COT report.
How does the indicator calculate its values from COT report?

You may be the only free provider of cot-related indicators.
And im happy to use yours.

Do you have any plans to develope more cot-based indicators, such as netto position, netto changes, willco index, movement index or pair index
which are provided by other competitors?
Though I'm a very novice and satisfied with cot index, above indicators also seem useful and may be easy for you to code.

And i hope your cot-related indicators become lighter. Currently they are very heavy for my win7 system.

Anyway thanks a lot for your contribution~~

Do governments or BOE, BOA, BOJ publish such reports?
If there, plz let me know.

1. 5 minutes is really strange - but I'll check, I believe I'll be able to optimize it somehow.

2. It's probably related to item 1 - need to think on improving the speed

3. In fact there are two COT reports - in terms of indicators its COTData and COTFinDisaggrData. They are extracting from different sourcing in SEC. So please check which you are comparing to.

And the COTDataIndex is actually a calculation for the given number of periods back - how bullish/bearish each group of traders is. Maybe this article will describe it better - https://marketsmadeclear.com/User-Gu...COT-Index.aspx
Also I'll try to provide my own description with the formula.

Hi Bachato,

Could you please tell me what are the errors? Small tip: you'll need admin rights to run the installer (but I presume if it's your machine it should be no issue). Could you please post me a screenshot of the error you've got?

Hm... As far as I know COT is specifically US stuff - at least I haven't heard of other ones. Of course I presume there are other regulators who request this and maybe publish somewhere. I'd appreciate if you'll share this info

Hi, firstly thanks so much for creating these and sharing your hard work with us. I seem to have an issue where no lines/data shows up on the indicator window once in mt4. any help will be greatly appreciated!

I relate to my issue a month ago...
When I read out the COT values with iCustom in an EA:
iCustom(NULL, PERIOD_W1, "DarkMindFx\\COT\\COTData", <Parameter>,0,0)
I still get the value only for the first week and then only empty values. I included the suggested additional value <Parameter> with numbers 0..10, but it doesn't change the issue. The output values are different (strange values), but still only for the first week. (Is there a description for this Parameter?)
It seems I'm the only one with this issue? Is there a running example to just read out the values I could try with?
All other Indicators like iATR and iCustom("ATR") are working perfectly...

Ok, it looks strange. But let me check on my side. I'll make my own indicator which uses COT via iCustom(...) and will share the example of the code - I believe it will be useful for everyone. Stay tuned!

Could you please check first: a) do you have any errors in the log tab? and b) do you have Allow DLLs flag set in the MT4 terminal settings?

ATTENTION! It seems like MT4 is not very optimal in working with custom indicators when they are referenced in your code. This causes in the significant decrease in the performance - according to my brief investigation MT4 loads the indicator on each call. So you can face some delay and application "freezing" when the custom indicator is added to terminal. Even though my indicators are caching the data which the download - but still, you can face the delays due to the fact that my indicators need to load the data from the net.

I installed the package from your website and when i put COTDATA on the chart nothing appears, what do i have to do?
I also found a recent zip on this thread and put all the necessary files in the library
Hello, indicator does not load any data in chart in MT4 . DLL allowed, tried both Win7 and Win10, also many different computers. Always same error 10000 (attached report). Any idea? Thank you.

Hi, is there any way of installing this on a Mac?
Does anyone have a fix for the last 6 weeks of data not being updated? Have the same problem on the ctrader platform

I tried the CoT Indicators and They just seemed to NOT work. Any solutions to how to get them to work?
