I often notice traders' desire to pick the ultimate tops or bottoms.. they think that shows how smart they are.. how great they are in guessing.. they believe only then they will have mastered the ultimate mountain of trading.. but in reality it is a pity and an unfortunate way of losing all the potential profits that could have been made in a wiser way: The way of the smart trader..
Below you will see trendlines put on chart by both approaches.. The smartass trader calculates the perfect spot to enter. He is happy once he could get in at that one and only time where price was at peak high or at peak low.. Once he enters he can proudly show off how accurate his entry was and how he managed not to have any drawdown, but as you can see he coud only achieve 4 entries during the sideways channel flow.
However, the smart trader put his trendlines lower than the extremes.. He did not use candle tails and cared to put his trendlines at tops or bottoms of candle bodies.. If you look at the arrows on both sides you will have difficulties to count the potential entries he made. He simply could enter a new trade almost each and every new hour, getting in and out again and again while smartass trader was waiting on the sidelines for his super entry level.

but he'll figure it out where is the optimum level for an entry
...of course, he will learn only after misses some nice entries Nice approach though, ...thank you for started that thread and keep adding trading school basis like that, I'm sure it can very helpful for the newbies and why not for all of us!
