Absolutely classic stuff. There is a lot of scaremongering around news trading but the only real issue you'll find is both directions being triggered and you have that covered.

What an answer!! that speaks to me thanks a bunch - take that oil news from Wednesday for ucad - having an entry 15 pips either side of the range would have negated the sell order and then had you up +85 pips in 4 seconds - and just paying attention I am sure manual entry could be used as well. Let's just say I passed - but I didn't get the A... lol!

If you keep an eye on the brokers spread it is good.
I have seen instances were the spread kills you even if you pick the right direction
Same with margin. It is ok if you have a big bank as you can still trade regardless but for the minnows you have been stopped from compounding properly.

Very good points and hence I try and keep 10 to 15 away from price at news release. Still get caught from time to time.

Hope we get some nice consolidation on GU going into london - bouncing off weekly trend line now - so good for a break either way - not much resistance until 1.3200.. let's see what happens. sleep until then. cheers. oh and the DXY is looking might pretty.. hmm hmm hmm!

Good morning all. Blood red sky here this morning. Not quite as deadly as blood in the water but much more impressive!

Anyway...the DAX was all wrong for me this morning. I had a long bias but the Monster was making every effort not to go that way, hanging around inside the body. I left it alone.

If I had waited and gone in on the long break - which I didn't - it looks like it would not have been quite enough to bag the full +5%. The bigger pre-Open spread would have eaten a percent away.

Morning all,
I will be trading off the 08-00 15 bar..
daily says high and 4 hour bar says low lol...
Lets just snatch the 5%...

edit, i spoke too soon with the 4 hour bar, lol.
By the time the 04-00 bar closed it was an out side bar, the High broke and up it went, Easy Trade but i did not touch it.
Stick to one method.

I took a leaf out of Lems book and tried a DAX WZ short based on the pull back from the res above

Not 100% if it was correct to the WZ tech, but it worked (demo of course)...

Not my morning. The range of the double-candle-block was big, which wasn't making me any happier about the set-up.

I did get the long I was waiting on - but it came after a head-fake and genuinely at the speed of light. I missed the entry completely. Hey ho, there ya' go...

i have decided not to Long Cable if the High is broken. Range is 29 and it is Monday. Will short though if /when it happens.

Great stuff. Damn, I need to get my S+D stuff back on the charts, lol.

You got it spot on. The only thing to bear in mind is that if you are going against the Schaff, then the move is more likely to be short-lived. In this situation, I'll drop to the m5 and the m1 for really precise entries off the micro-S+D Zones as well as the confirmation of direction that that gives.

Also...the other thing to remember - you don't need any of the additional stuff to run WZ. See Line...Trade Line.

Well done again, though.

Yeah I did notice the schaff was in the wrong direction... When price started moving super fast the blood rushed to my head and all I saw the sell button!

Yeah, that's what I would normally have done, using the S+D for the entries. It's also how I would run any recovery in a counter-situation. Going in on the immediate rebound from an extreme (technically early) is cool by me if backed by a micro S+D Zone by the way. Make use of the retrace-trade. Those extra percents you bank ''early'' can give you enough of a cushion to close early on the actual entry if you feel it's not going to go the full distance.
