Answer to your question "How soon can we identify a channel?" Experienced members can skip this post..

Examine the daily chart below.. any channel can be driven once you have at least 2 candles that form an angle with their body highs or lows.. the more candles you use the precise your channel can project the future scenarios. You also need at least one candle in the opposite direction to decide for the height of the channel.

I explained my simple thinking process on the chart. There is no magic to this. Trendlines and channels can be drawn with plain and simple common sense logic. But the more you get used to filtering out or completely ignoring the wicks and focus only on candle bodies you will step into my "always decide your entries and exits based on candle close" mentality.. which will be the starting point of protecting yourself from fake breakouts.. but this is the first step.. please digest this post well before you come with new questions..

Edit: And the additional image below the first one is current minutes once I elaborated and drew additional channels up until black channel number 5 and together with green channel number 4 price flows now inside a diamond shaped rectangle.. waiting for it to breakout from one side is key..

mm..i love when i have a decent trade going and speculative "news" turns it to garbage...there was 0 events or truthful information offered...and everyone clicks the buy or sell button because someone says something they know nothing about...out for the day with my pip.

Daily Outlook and Sweetspots for Friday (Update)

I shared the Friday chart already during London session.. nothing changed except the daily candle rose higher.. all levels stay the same as before.. my focus area is especially between 1.1880 and 1.1826.. my plan is to still buy the dips as long as price stays above 1.0802 and sell the highs once I see weakness after bulls reach up to the 1.1880 area..

Hi ATA ! Hope your day goes well ! I was busy trading Kiwi. Brief look at EU tells me exactly as I was saying 3 days. Toooooooooooooo Perfect HnS pattern. I will be closely looking for break above 1860-80 are follow up with potential 1901 touch. If what I think is right, they will try to fool everyone with strong up move to break HnS patter following big drop. I am not taking highs or lows at this moment I want PA to confirm sell out. Tomorrow's Friday and it can be totally unpredictable moves. My main target will be following market after lunch .

Yes.. envelope channels can work as well.. and the more you zoom out the more you double your channel parameters.. I got it..

What I don't understand though is:

Your first chart, the 24H / 1 Month channel uses roughly these parameters: 0,0016, 0,0008, 0,0004

but then you go to next chart which uses 5 times bigger timeframe but you prefer to double up the parameters roughly to: 0,0032, 0,0016, 0,0008

and then you go to next chart which uses 30 times bigger timeframe than first and you still prefer to double up parameters roughly to: 0,0064, 0,0032, 0,0016

and finally you go to next chart which uses 60 times bigger timeframe than first one and you still prefer to double up parameters roughly to: 0,0128, 0,0064, 0,0032

Meaning you don't care for any of the ratios you zoom in or out.. you double up anyway.. why?

Lol... it is not a system.. he only explained how he sets up his envelope channels for different timeframes.. how to trade them is same as how you would trade your normal channel or trendline edges..
