against the crowd here a bit it seems..scalped 48 pips in the range this morning but now holding a long for 1827 ish..would surpise me to see 1858-1880 early this week though.

too put it simply..long from 1796 to 1828..short from 1830 to 1808..long from 1808 to 1840. then ill reevaluate

Re the longer term discussion post --

I'm currently short at 1.1866, looking for 1.1660 (first stop), wait for a retrace, then down to 1.13 (second stop). There's decent resistance there, so I'll reassess if/when it gets there.

By the way, I am more of a swing trader (daily charts), rather than intra-day, so my lot sizes are probably smaller than some on here, but my pip goals are larger. Same difference, it's all relative.

I'm currently 65.2 pips positive on this trade, with a SL at 6.2 pips, so no risk attached to this trade now.

Does anyone else have a longer term view?

Read Sunilpawar's post above. That pretty much sums up my longer term view.

Rate hikes are focus it seems. Will it happen in December? Who knows anymore.

If you look at an above post I made, I believe the action we're seeing now is based on perceptions on Central Bank policy.

Why would it go straight down to 1.1660 though. Look at the other shoulder, it ranged for a while no?

I didn't say that it will go straight down to 1.1660. I just said that 1.1660 is my first target. Price very rarely shoots straight up or down, as you may well be aware.

In any case, this is my view based on my charts. Of course, no-one can actually predict the markets - they can just react to what they see.

I also have a bias that the Euro is fundamentally flawed. Monetary union without political union is a nightmare. If I was a German citizen, for example, I would be so mad that I lived in a country that does its bit, works hard and pays it's taxes, whilst in place like Italy and the like the working hours are less and people actively avoid paying the taxes due. No wonder it's a mess.

it did range for a while > down until 1.170 > and not straight though some days significantly

As i mentioned before, It's a clear reversal. Make sure you jump in. It's long term, but i would suggest keep a low leverage and let it run.
