Seriously, we will get back to the moon and hopefully we will do it quickly.
This time it will be not just one nation but several nations and private companies.
Exploration of the solar system has to happen. And will only benefit humankind on this planet.

Jeez, if we are scared to leave the shores we would not have explored and "discovered" other continents, built Empires, accelerated new industries and new technologies as well as some of the founding principles of our democracies.

i'm not saying exploring space is a bad idea but their may be unforseen consequences to drilling holes in the moon and than taking same of the minerals back to Earth who knows what it might affect just to make a billion pound mining company richer it's not worth the risk when you consider how much stuff their is to mine out in space which will definitely not have a negative effect to our planet why not just mine Mars or some comet? mining the moon is a bit to close to home and we do rely on it so why take the risk?

Pilot saying no adjustment for curvature ? Which ties in with satellite hogwash theory and why with all this so called satellite technology Pilots still need to use specific Oceanic Protocol to cross Atlantic etc. So we still have thousands of transatlantic flights which can't use "Satellite" navigation and yet we were able to track and land men on the moon.

I'm fortunate in that my default position allows me to be open to other explanations for most things.

I think this holds true in much of our politics, we have whole generations who can't face that their party is perhaps not what they once perceived but they continue to support because it's what they have always done or it's what their family have always done. I don't know if there is research on this but I'm sure it is quite a common phenomenon.
