The difference is this:
In the UK you have to find out if you are allowed to do something, because the presumption is that you are not allowed.
In the USA you have to find out if you are not allowed to do something, because the presumption is that you are allowed (within limits).

You first said that it was 'impossible' that this was carried out by one shooter whereas I left open the possibility for a second shooter because of the lack of information in the public domain.

You said were "100% unequivocal" about certain "facts" whereas I have never been unequivocal about anything except that there could be a different explanation.

You are the one claiming certainty from an uncertain situation whereas I have deliberate sought not to make certain statements such as "impossible" or "100% unequivocal" about an uncertain situation.

There are few "scientific facts" in any of your YouTube videos, what you have are opinions, I say this as... a professional scientist.

You have decided to take the opinion of some people online without providing any evidence that these people are "gun experts".... but you demand loudly that I corroborate the opinion of a guy I personally knows who is a weapons expert in crime.

You say these "gun experts" can prove there were two shooters and yet all the videos are of a "gun experts" on youtube analyzing sound clips which actually require... an audio expert.

You are making a big point out of the naming of suppressor or silencers... even though the term if often used interchangeably:

Your problem appears to be that other people have a difference of opinion from yours, deal with it you big girl. I'm not invested in this, I could not give one solitary fuck if there is one shooters, or two shooters, whereas you for some reasonable feel like you need to force others to conform to your opinion on this uncertain matter.

Nobody cares what you think, and I hope nobody cares what I think either. If you don't like people criticising your views here is a solution - don't post.

Specifically the right to bear guns in the USA is in order to protect oneself from the government. Originally that was the British government, the list has been extended to include....

I'm all for a similar approach in the UK. However the mentality here is wrong and would take a generation to correct.

Imagine if the UK citizenry were suddenly allowed to carry a weapon (at the moment we are not allowed to carry any kind of weapon). Given the current state of the UK population the civil war here could start way sooner than Stu and I think it will. In the short-term there would be masses of deaths due to idiocy and malevolence, but that would play out over a period. Thereafter a situation of mutual respect for one's neighbour would develop.

Heck it could even alleviate some of the housing problems. It's an ill wind that blows nobody any good.

If the UK had similar gun laws to USA I would own one. The police have steadily become like the military and their reasons are to deal with the modern issues we are faced with in society. Strange thing is that generally the police aren't the first in line to meet the issues, it is the public and then the police respond and often it is too late to stop anything. So while the police have had their arsenal increased we the public have gone backwards even to the extreme that carrying a pocket knife ( as a boy I always had a pen knife) can be an offence.
I once narrowly missed being stabbed by a burglar carrying a screwdriver and I decked him. I decked him through necessity, had I of had a gun I would have shot him, no question. I was awoken to see the shadow bobbing round our room , my Mrs thought it was our youngest daughter about 6 at the time, I jumped up out of bed and just knew things were all wrong, my fear was that this bastard had been near my kids and were there more in the house ? Hence my reaction would have been to shoot him had I had a gun. He was intent on not being caught and tried to lunge that screwdriver into me, I was lucky and so was he probably, he only got a severe beating and didn't lose his life, which he can thank my Mrs for as she screaming for me stop. When the police turned up one was a young guy and he was more concerned how the guy sustained his injuries, luckily for me there was an oldish copper who told him to just get the bastard in the back of the van and he would deal with the statement. He said "It looks to me like this must have fallen over" WINK ! I agreed. Judge only gave him 12 months in prison. I should have made him leave the same way he got in and threw him out of the window. Scary thing is I was home that weekend and wasn't supposed to be, I don't like to think about what might have happened, had I not been at home.

So that is a very personal reason why I would have a gun and also encourage my Mrs to also. I also think that prohibition doesn't work, be it guns or booze. Tell the wrong people they can't have something and it is red rag to a bull. Prohibition is no deterrent for the crim's.

EDIT: By the way I never even gave gun ownership a thought back then and thought our system was doing ok without but times change a man.........

Caught up on comments since last here. I, too, don't have a clue what really happened in Vegas. Many questions on that whole thing. Trump promises still coming a reality. 1. House approved 10 billion for the wall on our southern border this week. 2. Trump will decertify the Iranian arms deal on the 15th. 3. Rescinded the obamacare mandatory birth control mandate on employers. The last is interesting in that the NYT headlines were that Trump denied birth control to millions of women. A total lie. Simply says if ya old enough to screw ya old enough to take responsibility for your actions.

Also came out this week that the nfl players association (70% black) has teamed up with soros and black lives matter (domestic terror organization calling for the murder of cops) to support left wing causes and oppose Trump. Been going on for awhile. Their ratings falling to the cellar.

Steve Bannon and Laura Ingraham going to Arizona to support a primary challenge to jeff flake, major rino republican. Think there will be many challenges to establishment rinos.

The big anti-gun movement nothing more than a democrat push to raise funds. Their fund raising is drying up as Trump continues to confound and befuddle the swamp creatures of both party's. Attacks on the 2nd amendment a non-issue.
