Random Backtesting to hone some skillz...

Expectations played out every time. The first 2 trades were a little better than break even, I should have trailed price up better. The last 2 trades were better because I trailed better. :-)

{quote} I think I would agree with not posting your trade plan. Although, I do really really want to see it. I have one quick question on entry candles. I recall you saying at one point the entry candle shouldn't trade below the previous candle. Is that correct? Does that include the tail? Looking back in history, I see a lot of potential entry candles that would have made nice profit, but they had a tail that traded either slightly below or even sometimes quite a bit below the previous candle.
Ignored
That is a great question Tim. The tail does constitute the trading range of the candle. I do take entries where the candle tail does trade above or below but I don't like to see that tail be too long. Although it show strong opposition from the party that is coming in, I still can't get past the fact that there were still lots of traders still willing to buy or sell in my area of interest.

Having said that it's becoming less important to me these days to be honest.

Just taken out on my trade, +24 pips that are +18 pips net

I entered on that reverse signal in the triangle, according to my short term order flow and expectation. My first stop was above the light blue fibo 0. Then it started to increase volatility and momentum, then, when the price hit 127 fibo, I moved very aggressively with the stop, considering that in that area I'm looking for a reversal for a NSH on the longer term. The yellow lines are my entry and my exit

Damian if I started believing that this could be a real business for me is just thanks to you. I'm still at the foot of the mountain, as we say in Italy, but I already don't know how to thank you.

We were talking about trading a hypothetical 100 contracts the other day and the question of liquidity came up and slippage. As you can see my small order of 30 contracts got filled in parts. My entry was broken into 2 parts and my exit into 4. At the end of the day does it really matter if this happens when you are up 100 points even 50 points on 30 contract? So instead of walking away with 15K I walked away with 14,716. I don't sweat the little things.

You are on your way to the top of the mountain. You can thank me by getting to the top! Many believe that success in this business is a fairy-tale or that you will find a unicorn before you fine success but that's because the blind lead the blind and feed off of each other.

Let's look at this thread for example to prove a point. You all know the caliber of trader I am and what I offer here. Yet sometimes we stretch to 100 participants while the majority of the threads here are full of the blind leading the blind and never wake up. It's quite sad really to chase a dream and only find nightmares.

I applaud you all because there has been an awakening and now you can truly see what I see.

Hi,

Ok made 3 trades today.

1. Was looking for ABCD to the down side. After intraday almost completed ABCD to up side jum for short and ended BE.
2. Expectation was still for NSL and after almost 100% correction get decent bearish candle so decided to jump in for a good R:R. +28
3. Same as 1 trade, expectation NSL got intraday ABCD completed to the up side, have structure to the left. Waiting for the price to reach 38.20% to make SL for BE.

Please correct me of any of these entrance was bad.

Mr. Pip, I'm from Brazil, I've known the forex market for a long time, and I've never really made a profit or close to it, 2 months ago I discovered and followed this topic, just like I watched all his videos, and it's amazing how everything changed of this market. Very grateful for your time in helping every community, and hopefully bring you even more friends and money.

Hey mr.Pip I am very busy testing the system and I am right now testing the period June till August this year on the Eurostoxx50 and because there are a lot of zigzag moves it's very difficult to trade but so far the results in this period are positive (420 points profit in almost three months, one points equals €10) so my question is were your results also a bit behind during these months because I had a lot of expectation faillures and then took often losses of around 20 points and gain only around 6 points when a NSH/NSL appeared, so it was tempting to get agressive with the traling but in the long run that will destroy the expectatio n of the system

Hello Mr Pip and everyone else.

Thank you for taking the time over the past five years to post and teach here :-)

I have been a long time lurker trying to implement your teachings with varying degrees of success (when I follow rules, it works, when I do not, I fail badly).

I find my GREATEST battle is with taking losses.

Are there any mental training/psychology training you would recommend which would make someone (myself) comfortable with taking losses.

I find whilst I can identify entries, my inability to want to take a loss is what eventually kills my account (it's always a losing trade which I can't bring myself to close and then end up trying to cost average).

I have the basic tools but this is the most important one which I just can't seem to muster no matter how hard I try.

I do trade good size relative to the account so it's not the pressure of this.

Any advise would be appreciated (from anyone who has managed to overcome the same issue)

Thank you.

Yes I see what you see. I would look to see how the bears come in around here and look for a long around the 700 area into the golden zone for the short.
