Still out on vacation in Iceland. Freakin fantastic so far!

I've already made 1.2% on my OANDA accounts and 2% on my TradersWay account since being out of town!! It's really fun making profit while on vacation.

Fatkumo,
I did take that same EG trade you did but I did close it early. If I didn't close it early I would typically be holding on to this trade basket still.

Sometimes I close trades early based on discretion and also, how much profit I've made that same day from other pairs. See my picture for my exits...

Sorry, I don't typically give a ton of instruction or tips on the thread here. I will do some in my video's when I get back but really, my videos are mainly about tracking my trading progress and giving traders an avenue for thought.

My responses here will be limited till I'm back on the 19th.

Competition Podcast!
Take a listen to the podcast I did at Forexsignals before I left out of town! This podcast was given after winning their trading competition for August. I'm currently in 1st place for September as well.
You have to be a member of Forexsignals to listen. It's free to join. Once joined, go into the Trading Room and click the Podcasts tab.

Hope youre having an awesome time!

Yes please do give us a little more insight, although i know you don't give out each piece of detail, i feel like we should have somewhat of an idea.
To give up after 10% (profit of last month) and pull the plug hurts, and i feel as if lowering the amount of risk per trade doesn't make any much more sense.
I don't know the best way to tackle these sorts of situations. Even if i had a volatility filter, i'd still as of now be in heavy drawdown.

Thanks Ryan

Hi Faatkumo,

Here's the reason I've gone quiet!

It's going to take some time to dig myself out of the hole.

I'm going to have to re-think Grid Trading.

Like I said in a previous post I would not feel comfortable Trading this way with a BIG Bank this is the reason why.......

Thanks for giving feedback. If you don't mind me asking your drawdown at this point?
It helps because I was starting to wonder where everyone was with their trading.
I thought i found the ultimate solution to my trading woes.

Although this method has merit i don't know how much water it holds.

=(

I haven't been at my trading station yet today. Yesterday I was 8% drawdown . I just started trading live this strategy after 1yr of research and development. I am trying not to worry as I know in my research in backtesting that recently 2015-2016 -2017 the state pairs have larger drawdown because of for 1 example : pairs are trending lately, etc.. So I have compensated bye using less risk. For example: $5000 balance trade 0.01 lot limit on gbpcad. 0.01 lot limit on eurgbp. Grid stop at 50 total open positions. When I am there , (I am close) then I will re-access.For example look for a longer term support or resistance. Then add positions again with left over margin. This is my approach but may not work per Ryan's method.Ryan has 4 years experience with this system, and can read it better than I can. I am curious how he would approach it if or when in a major draw down.

Hi Guys and Gals!

I'm back!

I will be giving a full video update later today! Watch for this. I will be sharing a key thing to the strategy today to help those that are currently in DD. Steve, this will help you in your current situation! This tip I'm giving today is the reason I'm not in the same EG DD you are.

My buddy Robert hit 9.89% DD on his account with the open positions. His account took an unfortunate 1st trade that I would have NOT taken if I was trading the system manually. I will go into this in my video update today. His trades have not closed yet. It does look like these trades are finally starting to head in the right direction though.

Most GBP pairs pushed down after the FOMC statement today. Unfortunately, the GBPCAD lagged behind because of the current CAD weakness. The GBPCAD looks to be now having a delayed push down after the FOMC statement today.

I'm also looking into modifying my RMI EA again. I've noticed some interesting trades on some of my accounts. Some I wouldn't take if I was manually trading the accounts. I'll be going into the new modification in the video update today.

Stay tuned! The video should be up around 6pm EST.

By the way....My personal account did not hit this DD and I'll go into why as well. I'm currently up 5% on my personal account since I left on my Sept 13th vacation.

Ryan,
In your favor, price is approaching a significant resistance level on the daily GBPCAD.

Your vacation looked awesome!

Thanks for the new video upload, definitely needed.
My mind started to drift off a little.

The idea of breaking pivot instead of RMI seems to make alot of sense because it doesn't seem to take into consideration the support and resistance factors.

Thanks as always a breath of fresh air!

Hey Ryan

Thanks for the video mate, and looks like you had fun on your trip.

Also, thanks for sharing that tip. I am very unfamiliar with type of trading, so I will need to learn ways to introduce into my trading, learn, and practice.

As for my current trading, as you know I am a manual trader ........ although I miss numerous opportunities to enter the market, I also dodge those questionable entries that the EA can sometimes take.

At this stage, smooth sailing, but of course like with anything, it will get rough at times, so I tr to be always prepared for it.

Today's video.

I was hit with losses today unfortunately.

-32% at LMFX
-14% on Robert's account
20% on my personal account.

Yes, it hurts. Mistakes were made. It's been a long while since I've made some big mistakes. November 2016 was really the last time. I've gone 10 months without losses and was finally hit today. Robert's account was very difficult knowing how to manage the DD and didn't have a clear plan. Since this was the first time I really experienced heavier DD on this account, I now know how to better handle it in the future.

I have some losses to recover. Slow and steady is the road...

Go easy on me please. Making this video was hard enough!

Hi Ryan

As I've said before I enjoy your videos and your thoughts on your trading style. Like all things there are good days and bad days, especially with the forex market. What matters most when things go wrong, is how we pick ourselves up, learn, and move on. I thank you for your openness and honesty, not just today but for all your videos you have posted.

Onwards and Upwards

Regards Crowie
