Good Food Wednesdays Saturdays

Believe it or not, this is my first time in Birmingham UK.
We took some bored teenagers to SeaLife.
...and afterwards they went for a wander, and we went for lunch.
It took me a while to discover why it was called 'Bank Restaurant' (all the banks were behind me).
The view off the eating terrace was very appealing.

So what did you have EX and would you recommend ? We have one in Liverpool may give it a shot. Birmingham has great network of canals, looks really nice spot.

There is no such thing as ''free'' speech, but it does depend on how you measure it.

Think you missed the point Doc.

The wider implications of this are that oil(which supports the petrodollar) will,is now being sold in other currencies.
The strength of the Yuan is irrelevant, If the world can buy oil in Yuan or Rubles or gold they won't need so many dollars.

Only things I've seen abt Nafta have been negative so also not sure how that will impact anything positively?

The SO enjoyed her cod & chips, really nicely cooked and presented.
I was adventurous with double-cooked young chicken, I think, and I will not be adventurous in that direction again.
Overall cost a bit more than I was expecting.....
Very nice eating environment, it looked like it was the sort of place that would be busy in the evenings

That's an interesting conversation right there. I think the last two national leaders to threaten the Petrodollar were Qaddafi and Hussein.

Yeah but China and Russia are a different story.
Been reading a lot recently implying that WW3 has already started with the sanctions on Russia.
Most all wars start with sanctions, don't mean it'll turn into a hot shooting war but it'll be war nonetheless.

Nah, it's bluster on both parts, we been talking about Russia for 50 years. One thing about Trump, he a card short of full deck. I don't think Vlad will pulling any monkey business. As for China, they need us to buy their stuff, and they in turn own a lot of US debt. It will be cool. The Russians, and the Chinese love their children too.

Since it wasn't 9/11 .... I was wondering what started the "bash Qaddafi" rhetoric, although the Libyans had been fingered for the Air India 747 that came down in Scotland.

This morning on the TV I caught the last half of a discussion on the NK position. It roughly went ..... 'we are fed up with the sanctions' ... 'we want to be taken seriously as an equal nuclear power' ..... 'we want America and Oz out of the region for peace-keeping'. The interviewee (US former government person of note) also thought that KJU is doing two things which we are powerless to stop. 1) they are pursuing their bomb experimentation program and 2) KJU is pushing to see just where the boundaries lie. So the stiffening sanctions are not really doing any good.

As alluded previously. China controls the Norks. No missle tests or nuke tests happen without China's approval. China needs US trade. Now...

Agree it won't go hot but sanctions have and will continue to push the world into de-dollarization.

China and Russia have already mostly stopped using the dollar and they have an alternative to swift.

Have you noticed how many countries now have the ability to trade directly with China using RNB.

SA has also started to talk to China/Russia re pricing their oil in RNB. Gadaffi and Hussein stopped using dollar, thats why they had to go, can't do that in Russia or China.

C'mon, do you really think that is true? If so, why is the yuan still pegged to the dollar? there is no physical need for country A to purchase $$ so they can be converted into whatever for country B. The USD is still, and will be (unless the US ceases to exist) the main currency that the value of all others are determined. Too many think their is an actual physical exchange of dollars to purchase something else. Geez, people will believe almost anything.
