I became feverish after I open a trade. I think it's a form of nervousness.

Nervousness in trading could come from rational concern (i.e. due to poor skills, planning, preparation, management, execution, etc.) and irrational one. I consulted with a psychiatrist about that feverish sensation and detailing how I trade. She then concluded I have the irrational type of nervousness. She prescribed a medication, but I decided not to take it to avoid addiction and all.

My way to tackle it now is through music listening. However, instead of listening to the typical calming instrumental musics, I listen to upbeat, happy-go-lucky kind of music.

The reasoning is this. If I go with the calming one, it's like I'm trying to block and downspeed a strong river flow with just a few rocks. It'll be very unlikely for me to be successful with that. My rushing stress hormones (i.e. adrenaline and cortisol) just won't be tamed so easily that way. If you have tried that, you know what I'm talking about.

Hence, I suggest we go with the other option in which we won't try to block it but try to ride and have fun with it. So, where the calming one led me to an empty, emotionless feeling, this type of music help me to overpower the stressful hormones with the happy ones, be it my endorphins, dopamine or serotonin. I hope I explain it well enough so it makes sense to you.

Now comes the how-to. It's simple really. Here's my favorite upbeat, happy-go-lucky Playlist in Youtube produced by Alumo. When I feel nervous or other negative feelings, I just listen to them and put a smile on my face. I don't have to force my feeling again to be happy, calm and content. I will feel happy and cheery eventually while waiting for my trade to unfold. And that feverish feeling will also gradually diminish pretty quickly.

So, I hope that helps for ones who have irrational nervousness sensation like me. If you have a rational one, I suggest you start by tackling the problems first, then go with this approach.

You're scared to lose becasue that simply validates your insecurities and is painful.

Learn to love who you are today and learn to consider any gains or losses as simply bonuses or new learning experiences. This will take time. You rely on validation as a source of dopium, this is the habit you need to break. You're not special, but that's perfectly ok and actually kind of awesome

and this whole trading thing looked so dam easy hey... mate I've been a participant of this thread and forum for a long while now and it's very rare to see such an honest post, that makes you a commodity in my book.. you dont need meds or a shrink, you know it...
