This very same episode has just been shown on the 'Yesterday' channel on TV. The SO was watching it (it was that or Donald Trump, she said).

One of the interviewees said that he weighed 42kg at the time the Allies found their camp. Physically he looked quite normal, 27 years on from his rescue.

One of the German guards was exonerated from war crimes prosecution because he consistently refused to carry out orders at the camp.

Himmler remarked that there must have been more than 6 million, and set up his own records investigation section........

My uncle was in a German POW camp when he was liberated by the Americans, he came back just over 6 stone, which is about 40ish kg. I never got the low down on it, he didn't seem to much like talking about the war.

Your cynicism is good. I like discussing things because it forces me to challenge my own beliefs. I do this more for my own benefit.

I don't doubt that some of the specifics of the Holocaust has been embellished to make it even more horrifying, other times I think they just managed to piece together the information wrong. This is complicated because the Germans (supposedly) supposedly tried to hide their actions.,

However I still believe the main headlines; deliberate genocide, and millions dying.

Well that was kind of my original issue. Real facts speak for themselves and don't need to be tampered with hence my interest in reading and viewing material with an alternate view. I've only ever been aware of the official story so from my point of view think it is important to consider others opinions on what happened and not just the "BBC" version. The total death toll for world war 2 is estimated at 70 million just to give some perspective. Anyway it would seem we have flogged this and you have reached your conclusions, so no point in further discussion. I will probably continue to review material as I find it with an open mind.
