DislikedSimple math! I think the most import thing is my account can hold the unwanted trend. IMO, first trade is not very important: no matter how skillful you are. Some day you will face the formula. The image: price is 1.65000, and will falling, but I take the first wrong buying trade....... With grids and equal trade lots, always expecting a 50% retrace to BE {image}Ignored

Disliked{quote} You bring up an important point with your calculation. Without doubt, the RMI-inside candle entry improves your odds of having a good starting point for the system. But we should not forget to focus on the moment, when we have to face a big drawdown (I think, this happens sooner or later, regardless, if the system is traded manually or by EA). An increase of the SL from 200 to 300 pips (50%) for each trade increases your total DD by 218%. So the goal should also be trying to reduce the SL. This has another advantage: The SL may be hit more...Ignored
Disliked{quote} the drawdown will definitely be less. no question about it, when you progressively increase the grid size. but there might be a price to pay for the less drawdown... your next level might not trigger. the rebound of the price may not be enough to take you out of your trades before resume the same direction, thus leave you an ever growing grid more drawdown, and time in trade that could be spent on other opportunity. alternative: may consider balancing a progressive grid size, ( ie. larger and larger grid steps) with a progressively growing...Ignored

Disliked{quote} Oliver, let me try to add here an idea as well...( and note i am trading on similar principles, but not by RMI, and not by inside candle) one way to reduce SL might be that after a certain number of entries on one or few start to take partial profit. will reduce total profit, might reduce total recovery to be/profit, but will result in less drawdown, and time in drawdown too, free up some margin, and give a chance that if there is some sideways move bofore/instead of a sharp pullback then some grid levels can come to play in multiple time,...Ignored
Disliked{quote} Thanks for your input. Especially the idea of getting some pips back in ranging periods sounds smart - I will give it a try in my next tests.Ignored
