Deutsche currently employ around 9000 in London so moving offices and keeping 5000 is a reduction of +/- 4000 as the previous reports have stated. It will almost certainly be cited as negative by Cliff...

I disagree. Everyone (at my kids' school anyway) is involved in their child/ren's education. 99% of the Marxist indoctrination is subliminal. Then there is the really obvious stuff, like I mentioned a while back, when the Head said that Trump building a wall was not good. I was livid. But you know, all the other parents couldn't care less! It could be they are libs themselves or are just apathetic. My oldest has a good radar for political comments and tells me everything word for word. I am sure the other children don't and even if they did, their parents wouldn't be bothered.

I keep myself to myself these days and never talk to anyone about anything more than the weather. It is a constant fight trying to counter the subliminal and a greater challenge trying to identify it. They have your kids 6 hours a day. They get to them slowly. Luckily for me, my kids are really mini-me's in terms of how they think, not that I intended that at all - I want them to be their own people. All I ask is that they challenge everything.

There is no mention of a reduction of staff in that article, just that DB have a new building to house 5,000 people of ~9000 UK staff and that's appears to be a 25 year commitment.

I did a quick google and bloomberg is running with the headline DB cutting 4,000 UK jobs, which is not what DB has said; it said it will do that depending on it's 'base case scenario'.

Which is why it is best not to get all our news from one source, two completely opposite headlines .

By the way is "eldest" a better use ? Not being silly here either. I really am trying to focus better on my written skills as they have deteriorated.

For sure! The tell signs are there in a lot of examples in many who have exhibited certain types of behavior who may have been subjected to indoctrination. Indeed. It is a cup half full or half empty type of story.

On the plus side there is the 25year (which if you consider the 2023 start date is more like 30) commitment to continue to operate a substantial business presence in London and potentially expand that business.

On the Minus side is the already announced potential repatriation of some operations back to Frankfurt if the EU clearing business needs to be moved to back inside the EU.

Back to the plus side tho, the business of Banking is going to change substantially in the next 20-30 years and London (providing they are nimble enough and innovative enough which London tends to be) would expect to be a major player in the new technologies that will be hitting the financial world. Deutsche will definitely want to be here and involved despite their EU masters and current difficulties. Extricating ourselves from the EU helps open the pathway for us to do the very things we do best. - Innovate.
