yea I guess thats a problem but when your talking 8 mil off your workforce in 20 years it's not the greater problem
I edited Germany It's 8 million lost off current workforce and thats a fact
in 20Y

Germany needs to get busy lol but still can not change it in that time
or
keep encouraging something that looks like madness on the face of it

lots of people in my age group find it hard to have kids for many different reasons one being most leave their parents home's the their mid 20s or even older in some cases also women under 30 in cities earn more then men under 30 which makes thing harder and the price of properties is high a lot of my mates live with friends in groups with say 4 guys to a house or two couples to a house and living like this does not help them mature in a way that makes them ready to have kids and on top of this wages have been suppressed from mass immigration which's makes money more tight and in general many in my age group are just immature and short sighted

i would like to know if people that live a more rural lifestyle are having the some problems in terms of having kids

do you know the different rates between people living in cities and non cities in the UK with regards to how many children they are producing?

I was raised in the country, way back in the sticks. I raised my family in a small southern, conservative town. Jen obviously lives in a good area to raise kids. I think it very advisable, if possible, to consider a good environment before starting a family. If that is not possible, then one must be a very hands on, involved parent. Kids need a parent (not friend) that guides them through life. My son, aged 47, told me just yesterday how important his mother and I are in his life and business. If done correctly, you are a parent for life.

no ,I understand exactly what you say ,maybe the gov should do more to help that age band ,I think I was pretty lucky in regard to property
Its all about being the right age at the right time
I never had kids till I was 32 tho and have done my bit with 4 (3 boys 1 girl)

I try not to think about my childhood. I come from 4, and it surprises me that one of my sisters has chosen no children. Between the rest of us we made up for it with a total of 9, so 2.25 average across the sibling group. Now that both my sons are over 30 conversations are a lot easier than they used to be.

HaHa -- I think gett'in them through the teen years is a challenge to parents all over the world. Remember how much "I knew" and what a shock it was to learn at about 17 that there were a lot of people smarter than I was!

The problem is lack of suitable places to live. In the countryside the same moaning persists. Wages are generally lower than in the bigger cities and local couples cannot afford to buy. Seems you have to go to Wales for housing that is affordable. Worse ... there are few rental houses available, housing association places are shrinking.

I've just realised that the working population is suffering the same fate as endured by other species. Habitat destruction is killing off the numbers. All the housing is going to the newcomers with children, per Stu's post yesterday and that family with 8 kids, leaving nothing for young couples who want to start a family.
