I find your posts rude and destructive. You are ruining this thread.

Will you please stop attacking traders here in Forex Factory. I am going to have to complain your posts if you continue. There must have been a nerve struck in you from OutThere and his posts. Please do not take it personally and try to stick to trading discussions for the sake of all of us and the 5%er's.

I know you think you are right...but other Traders think that they are right and post some valid points. I personally have learned a lot from this thread and am thankful. To you too! But lets close the shitshow now ok?

I the idea is to fund using a little deposit. If make it...they return you half the deposit challenge or even full deposit challenge if you still have plenty time left over to trade.
Now the second idea is to stay tight and long to stay in the game to earn back deposit challenge and if good enough to start earning winning.
Once you earn back deposit challenge.. it doesn't matter anymore. You want risk more or want to stay longer is entirely up to individual cause it's not your money anymore. It's just how much you want to grab. Even if you 4%dd...and you had earn more than to redeposit challenge and start process again. End of the game....if you winning. That's all it matter. The rest are just idea and talk.

That means if you were to cash out your account when your balance says 1.28 million, you will get only $51,200 cash because that is your equity.

So, your job will be to turn $875 into $51,200. Unfortunately, you will have to actually make $102,400 because you will be giving away half of it to the 5ers.

You will have to increase your initial $875 by 117 times to get to $102,400 (102400/875=117) and that will net you $51,200 in your account.



I admit I don't know how that is going to work if you withdraw your profits monthly. Do you have to let your profits retain in your account to build up from $875 to $51,200?


How long do you figure you will take to reach the 1.28 million balance in your account?

So glad you brought that 51,200 up. Here is where I think you will finally get it.... for $875 i will be taking a 20,000 account (although you say only worth $800) to 1.28 million (you say only worth 51,200). Once again, to do this I need returns of 7, 10 ,10, 10 and 10. Do that with your $875 you still only have $1,370. And, yes still, along the way the 5%ers will have paid me $92,000+ in my splits, you will have earned nothing and your $875 will now be $1,370.

You are still comparing account balance with drawdown. If I pay them $875 they give me $20K and I have 4% DD , it's $800. If you take your $875, even if you allow yourself 50% DD, you still only have $437.50 to trade with. This is such simple, basic math. Not to mention, when you make 10% your account grows 10%. When I make 10%, the account grows 100%.

How long do you think it is going to take you to make your balance of 1.28 mil or $51,200 equity?
I just pulled a spreadsheet and it tells me that it is going to take me 15 months to do it.
No guarantees but it is at least a timeline.

I am not going to withdraw anything.
We both start and check in after that roughly the same number of months. 14 or 15 months.

You keep track of all your withdrawals and add them to your final equity in your account and that will be your end result.
That is provided your final equity will be all yours to withdraw.
My end result will be my final equity.
Of course I will be earning a bunch of rebates but I won't count them in.

If I'm getting paid along the way, that is all part of compounding. You withdrawal when I get paid. See, this is what your missing growth and profits at the same time. Of course, you know my equity will not be mine to withdrawal. But I will have an account which if I only make 2% per month will earn me 12,800 monthly. If you agree to withdrawal every time I get paid by the 5ers, I will have a fresh eval with a TE up on Tuesday morning.

No, I don't agree to withdraw every time you get paid. I want to compound my earing power.

If for example I am using .01 trades with a $875 equity to start, if/when it doubles, I will be using .02 trades because now I have 2 X $875.
Makes sense. No?

And you are right. I don't understand how you withdraw all your profits every month and your equity/balance still keeps going up in your account.
I have to say, if that is the case. the 5ers don't really explain it well on their site.

You get a split every profitable month, regardless of how much you earn. For every 10% you earn, they double your account. That may be monthly, quaterly, every 5 months, whenever. This is independent of your split. First 6-7% (the evaluation), you get your split and they quadruple you.

So, as I said, let's start around the same date. I have an OCD thing about starting fresh accounts at the beginning of a month or at least at the beginning of a week but if you are gong ho and wanna go go go, let me know and I'll get things started.

Also, I am not into showing off and having a public journal and daily updates and sh*t like that. we can exchange MFB links if you want but I'll be locking up everything other than equity, so no point checking every day. We'll chat once in a while to see how things are going.

Wow, what a heated discussion. Meanwhile, here I am, failed my first 3 40k evaluations with the5%ers. Learned a lot during the month long process.
1. Leverage is not enough for the strategy I am using - I thought I can survive but heck I'm not comfortable with static position sizing.
2. I am missing money management since my position size is not aligned with my risk -> inaccurate result.
3. Overtraded - I will accept this as I traded a lot while experimenting with how the spread and leverage will affect the strategy I'm using.
4. I used a copy trading software to copy my trades from my other account to the5%ers and there is a significant miss:hit ratio when it comes to TP and SL due to difference in spread and also commission. I cannot ignore the fact that the5%ers requires traders to always have an SL so the number of times the trade hit BE/Loss is greater in the5%ers vs my other account.
5. Lost some $$$ but that's fine for me. I'm here to get funded and have more capital and be more disciplined.

I would probably use a swing trading strategy on a higher timeframe (which I commented some months) so I can adapt and trade for the5%ers. On to the drawing board for me. I'm still happy with the experience with them.

It's still funny that people are still arguing about trading for a prop firm or not. Can I just ask, what's your suggestion on:
1. How can I grow my $1k while keeping my day job and turn it into 100k in a couple of months/years?
2. Why can't I trade for a prop firm and then use my 50% profit split to build and compound my own account? So that one day who knows I may be trading my own $1m account and the5%er's $1m account. One I keep 100% profits, 2nd 50% profits.
3. Let's assume that I'm a profitable trader who can manage 4% risk while achieving 7%(6 months time limit evaluation) or 10% (no time limit funded trader) why should I not consider being funded by the5%ers?
4. The5%ers offers capital for profitable traders, what's in it for me if I just keep my $1k for my own trading? Should I risk 10% per trade and hope I won't lose 5x in a row using 1:500 leverage (I tried this before - not worth it)?
